Question about act 3

I'm nearing the end of act 2 and it's been somewhat easy due to me exploring and getting over leveled.
I also heard that it's really easy to over level yourself for act 3. So I'm wondering if it's just best to go directly from the end of act 2 and finish act 3 as to not make it easy. Or should I explore a bit before going into act 3?

it is definitely easy to overlevel yourself for act 3. the main boss is not the strongest boss in the game, there's a LOT of other bosses who are much stronger. if you would not like to be overlevelled for the main story boss, i'd say go directly there. you'll finish the story, but there's a lot left to explore afterwards that is harder :}

Balance-wise the finale is intended to be played immediately upon entering ACT III. BUT if you wish to explore ACT III then that's alright too. Yes you will overlevel, but you can compensate it by limiting your DPS later.

Personally I explored the entirety of ACT III prior to going for the finale, but to have a somewhat ethical experience had to cap my DPS and only use basic attacks. It was still very easy, but it allowed me to see all moves/phases and voice lines.

Do the party member quests first (most are very short, but Maelle's takes you to a new area that is ferly large), then immediately go to the final boss.

i didn't beat the game until i 100% everything besides that (and the final record/journal) but if i could go back i'd have beaten it first. however not for the reason you're thinking (being too op) i do it because you get lots of crazy strong pictos in the final area which can be used to do the other side stuff. some of it was pretty challenging. especially now since you can't just do 100million damage and insta kill the more challenging bosses with maelle anymore.

Hmm. Some of the sidecontent is important to flesh out the lore and get more context for the story. On the other hand, imo that context will make the endings feel worse.
So its not an easy choice to make.

If its just gameplay that has you worried tho I would definately recommend completing the story first. If you do too much sidecontent the story fights will offer no challenge at all.
