I hate you so much(Spoiler)
Clea, Clea how I hate you so much right now.

In the Floating Canvas area. You meet a missing boy or ghost boy. He tells you that there is someone locked behind a door. But before you open the door you need to fight 4 bosses that you already beat in the main game.

Once you're done, you can now open the door. You walk in and find a woman in front of a statue and it's Clea. Apparently she has brain damage because she doesn't recognize anyone. She starts waving her around and waking up some statues of the Nevrons that you fought to get into the door. Yippee cow yay motherfudger. Good times are coming....NOT.

The fight starts with her in the middle with this aura around her and her waving her arms like in a wave motion. She summons different apparitions of the nevrons that you fought to get to her. But difference is that are fast and jumping in and jumping out. If you miss a dodge or parry, she heals 600,000 HP negating any damage you did to her.

Here is my beef with this. I am been making my way through leveling up and fighting bosses and most bosses are doable. But this freak takes everything I have done and smashes it into the game. I am not a parry god or dodge freak. I have a good team with Verso, Maelle and Sciel. The problem I have with this fight is her stupid regen nonsense. If you mess up a parry or dodge or get hit during the onslaught of nevron ghosts, she has full health again.

I need the ultimate build to knock her dead but oh forget that because they nerf the one skill that would have let me do that. Little bit upset since I feel like I hit a wall with her. Sure I know I have to learn all her moves or the enemies that jump in but the whole regen bs ruins the fight. I mean basically this fight is you can't afford to miss a parry or dodge at all. Which is kind of punishing for people that might have problems with parrying all the moves.

Rant over.

*cough* maell's stendahl + gommage = gg easy *cough*
the fight is most a damage check but its not super technical for the second hardest boss in the game. standahl in virtuous stance does easy 1.5+ million dmg and gommage even more.
sciel can also do 800k+ with twillight dance (20 fortune + twillight).
verso is more on the lower end for me but still way better since lune and monoco are useless in the optional content.
and yes augmented counter 1,2,3 lumina are pretty nice todo 600k dmg counters (parry).
this fight is pretty fair compared to the number 1 boss...

I couldn't parry her enough to counterattack either, but I kept getting gradient stacks and gommage'ing her faster than she was healing back.

I think they nerf the stendalh move.

One of the very first things I did post nerf-patch was fight Clea. Saw that she heals for half a mil per turn, decided to try oneshot. Took me maybe 2 minutes to figure out a build that can do it. IIRC literally my first oneshot attempt worked just fine. They nerfed it so merely slapping on Medalum + Stendhal will no longer 1-hit-kill everything, but you can totally still oneshot if you want. Just need a bit more thinking / optimization. I didn't look up any guides & I can dish out 50mil+ turn 1.

Not really. Just did Clea today and still one hit her with 30mil damage with Maelle.
Also she is not even the hardest optional boss, there are way stronger ones.
Now Simon took some work since he can tank a 30 mil damage hit.

They did nerf it, but only by like 40% which is basically nothing for a move that can hit over 1bn damage.

Its a bit more. They nerfed the base skill damage by 40% AND also the broken 3rd skill effect of the weapon that multiplied the damage further which it was not supposed to do.
So it was a pretty big nerf but really only if you are one of those " i made a perfect build with 4 billion damage!" guys. Its still more then enough to one shot nearly everything in the game without much effort.

She is a boss that you either have to parry to win, or outdamage her heal. She doesn't heal full, just like 1mil. Also, as for why she has "brain damage" is because she was repainted, and when you repaint someone, it ♥♥♥♥♥ them up royally.
Hatman May 11 @ 1:49am
I didn't even have Stendhal at the time i did clea.
And what i had could barely keep up with her healing.
Monokos Lampmaster Light got the job done for me.
Maelle is not the only one one-shoting end game bosses. I killed her with Verso in one turn.

I think people are sleeping on Monoco too. That guy hits like a train.

That skill still one shots anything in the game. It was doing 3bln before nerf. You need only 50mln. Like 3% of what was possible before.
Just farm colour of lumina and spend all on Maelle, upgrade her Medalum to lvl33, use all good pictos including solo one, cheater, double ap, and all for the gun. Burn and mark are crucial.
Shoot her to apply mark and burn and then use that void skill. That’s it.
and here i was just sad, after actually struggling a lil with a few of the bosses you needed to kill for her.
Then the door tells you ARE YOU SURE
This supa dangerous are you SURE?!!!
I walk up to her and she never gets a turn and dies

wtf was that....

I didn't equip any of the synergy that gets Maelle up to silly numbers, but Monoco was doing decent numbers (over a mil) and Verso was the star for me.

She healed for 1.2M for me, but I just learnt the easy parries in the first half and I was doing enough damage to not completely reset the fight when failing the trickier ones on the second half. So a pretty "normal" approach I'd say.

Same for the "number one boss," the trick for me was ensuring my characters had high speed/break over anything else, main source of failing was having characters removed from the fight, this way again I could fail some parries and didn't need a one-shot build.

Edit: hardest boss for me is the level cap. If I finish everything and I have ten levels to go then no, I'm not grinding 100 battles to get that last trophy. Maybe I'll get it one day if you give me something else to do in the game.

My dude I know how she has a lot of ducked up moveset or how hard that boss is but she clearly a second hardest boss in the game bc it's secret boss... (spoiler alert she is MAKING the nevrons, i mean i think its reasonable, no?) BUT the only way to defeat her unfortunately you have to be parry god :praisesun:
