What choice did you make? (spoiler)
So what did you choose at the end? To keep Maelle in the Canvas, or to bring her out of it?

I chose to side with Verso. He, and Renoir was correct in my opinion. Maelle wanted to live the Canvas forever, even if it killed her because she didnt want to live in reality to accept her brothers death, and to not morn with her family, or live through the pain she deals with her body. I just didnt think that was right, or healthy. She needed to accept reality, and move on, and improve her love for herself, and her family. To not push reality away because it was hard, and her life would of been harder, but to grow, and accept how things are. She shouldn't live the rest of her life in a fake world, and reject the truth. To also cause her family more pain too with her passing from it.

I think its amazing how many people completely misunderstood the characters and their motivations. Granted, this is also the writers fault for their narrative shift first in Act 2 and then in Act 3, and for not actually giving much screentime to the outside world so that part probably left a weak impression to many.

Maelle. I just thought at the time that she would lead a better life in the canvas as opposed to the "real" world, where she is disfigured. Also, I thought about the people of Lumiere.

I did watch the other ending on Youtube and read people's opinions on the subject, and people have made good points for both endings.

Maelle.

Just like Lune with Gustave, had to save Verso from himself because suicide was not the answer. He will appreciate it one day because instead of killing himself and everyone else, this way he'll get to grow old and in loving company of someone who cares as the world of Lumiere thrives and prospers (even though he did betray it three times in a row).

Same. If you have any doubt just try the Maelle ending and you'll be proven right.

This is some rape apologist level gaslighting.

Verso fights for decades to liberate his entire family from an imaginary world and this guy not only puts him back in the box but scolds him for trying to set his loved ones free
I see people who are talking about the people in the Canvas as if they were real, but they weren’t. It was all fake. It’s no different than people who play video games so much especially in VR everyday all day to escape reality and its hardship. It’s not right, it’s unhealthy, and it’s outright immoral in a way imo. To leave her actual family for fake paintings of people, and to lie about her coming back, it’s just wrong, and would leave her family to morn her own death from it.

I’ll watch the other ending, I think I’m done with the game for now. Got other games like DOOM coming, but I do want to see what the other ending was.
Verso obviously. You must really hate Alicia to choose Maelle ending
