Incoming patch - Character balance

"Expeditioners, a quick note on Stendhal and balance changes:

We hadn’t planned to make any balance changes this early—just bug fixes, unless something clearly stood out.

Well, Stendhal did.

It was underwhelming for most of development, so in our final pre-release balance pass, we gave it a big damage boost—and clearly overdid it. It ended up overshadowing most other options.

We still want you to be able to break the game—and you absolutely still can—but Stendhal was making it a bit too easy.

You’ve got one more day to enjoy it in its current form and set some wild records. The adjustment will be included in our first full hotfix set, going live tomorrow. The patch will roll out on Steam first, and other platforms will follow.

After the change, it’ll still be a strong single-hit skill with great synergy potential... just more in line with everything else."

I doubt that the one shots will stop. The amount of times you can kill Simon on Expert even with an unbuffed Stendahl is too high for that.

You will probably just have to use some buffs to reach the same numbers now.

I wasn’t aware this move was even more broken. You can still one shot with other moves.

Now that's refreshing to hear. Not that I mind them changing that one skill, but I'm glad they're not gonna stiffen the game up too much.

Yeah my thoughts as well. They would have to severely nerf the ability, probably down to whatever the pre-buff numbers were.

This doesn't meaningfully impact your ability to oneshot bosses, Gommage can do it just as easily, you just set up 2 characters with all 3 combo attacks, cheater and gradient charge lumina for instant level 3.
