There are also a bunch of Luminas that reward dodging over parrying.
Beyond that it'll depend on how you build out your characters - you can skew towards dodge, you can skew towards parry and there's even viable builds for face tanking hits.
Dodge: 0.35/0.22/0.22
Parry: 0.25/0.15/0.15
Dodge has about 50% wider window but that leads to being about 2x easier.
Sure, parry is OP and many times stronger than dodge but it’s worthless if you miss it.
So, prioritise not getting hit first and then you can parry with about half of the success rate.
But most people will gamble with parry. It’s too rewarding and satisfying.
take 30% less damage but consume 1 AP per hit
receive 1 AP per hit but remove AP on parry
receive 1 AP on dodge
to give yourself a sizable defense boost for little downside, can still fish for ripostes if you want you just wont get ap from parry
But again, it's all worthless if you miss it. Dodge being much easier and still giving 100% damage reduction is the biggest advantage.
Dodging just has what feels like slightly better frames and it recovers faster, so if you are unsure about enemy attack patterns you can kinda spam dodge faster.
The delay when missing a parry compared to dodging is pretty noticable in my opinion.
