Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Statistiche:
Lune being able to kill massively powerful bosses is hilarious
Playing on Expert, decided to check out the Red Cave at the start, there was the pink boss. I'm like "Cool, let's see". Boss proceeds to deal 3500 damage to me, lol.

I try again, start by shooting his weak point and deal 9999 damage to it... Which is 7% of his health.

I'm like "♥♥♥♥... Guess we can't kill this atm..."

But then I remember... Lune has an infinite scaling skill. All that is required is to just not get hit (4Head).

Thankfully, the boss has 3+1 very simple attacks. It jumps and hits 3x (very easy to dodge, the timing is when the boss is mid swing). It moves forward and swings down once or twice (this one is more annoying to dodge, especially when he does the second swing). It casts a spell that hits the ground 2 times before arriving at you, this one is a joke to dodge (dodge after the second explosion).

After a few attempt to really nail down the timing, I was eventually able to kill him.

Giving 59k exp, plus a level 10 Accessory. That was a ton of fun.

lol yeah I had the same experience with another optionnal-boss (or endgame while I'm not endgame) encounter.

It's crazy how you can technically do the whole game like that if you're patient/skilled enough by just dodging/parrying.

as you can see, my weapons were level 12 max and I dropped a level 21 weapon (or going from 800~ to 2100~ raw damage lol)

lol wait until you uncap your damage, then you realize Lune is just a support for stacking shell on heal, to generate powerful, rush, and AP.

Lune is literally my DPS mage with burnstacks for anything that I can't kill with everything else. That's it. Also, she's my heal mage.
Lune is pretty strong in the early game but is pretty weak later.
I haven't played with Lune that much. Do you mind sharing your builds?
I like that any character can carry in this game. For me, Gustave is by far the strongest solo-sustainer and breaker. My Lune is a debuffer. Meanwhile, Maelle dances on people. My Ciel defeated the sheep by herself at level 18, after the rest of my party got wiped... But when they were alive, Gustave was dealing 3-7k depending on skill. The overcharge cycle is crazy, dealing 14k damage in two turns.

What is this skill called?

Various guides say Lune is kinda crap and that Sciel is better...

Comparing Sciel and Lune, Sciel feels more balanced because she can attack, heal and buff at the same time. Lune takes a lot of AP and coordination to be powerful. But I am still relatively early (Just got Esque).

Fire Rage. Also, you are looking at late game guides? From my screen shot you could see that I'm still at the early game (my Lune was level 11 when I fought this boss).

Fire Rage.
Thanks.

I cannot know what level you were, only what level you were after defeating the boss, which was 18.

I just did it and even with Lune on Expert, its a very long fight
She doesn't make it easy. Just a bit faster
Wait till you get the Pictos that unlocks the 9999 damage and they can start hitting harder. Landed a 37500 hit with her last night :D

People really gotta stop guiding through a game. Sciel is only decent because the foretell system is awkward until you start getting later game weapons that have better passives. She takes two turns to setup until then. Lune only ever requires one or can even turn zero with the right weapon and passives. Sciel eventually becomes a character who cant hit 3m 4m crits but by that point youre done with post game.
Lune has a really ridiculous rotation she can achieve fairly early where she alternates Crystal Crush into Thermal Transfer (doesn't use turn) + Electrify. It's a net negative 3 AP (or 2 AP with Denemerim), but you can get two of that back by consuming a mark if you need to, so any parries at all are enough to fuel it even if you don't solo. Since Crystal Crush is five hits, it gets around the damage cap, letting you hit around 40k total damage around the last third of act 1 when combined with Sciel's double damage skill, and it completely maxes the break bar on basically everything. For some reason the scaling on Crystal Crush with stains is absolutely absurd and does way, way more damage than her other comparable skills (except Lightning Dance, which will outscale it but is a little tricky to set up early) and the stains for Crystal Crush are super super easy unlike all those super-awkward "three different stains" skills.

I can believe she falls off later, though.

Also, Sciel makes an absolutely garbage early impression because her mechanic inherently takes multiple turns to get going, and she doesn't get a weapon that fixes this for a little bit. She also absolutely 100% needs bonus starting AP (Energizing start) so she can open with a 2 or 3 AP skill and a 4 AP skill on consecutive turns. Once she has this and Chation, she can feed the party 10 AP on turn 2 while also maxing her own AP, and then either do her own damage or use Fortune's Fury twice in a row to have someone else nuke everything.

Edit: Act 1 end boss in one turn. This is WITHOUT Fortune's Fury. https://cdn.steamusercontent.com/ugc/32197118128427817/E1E0E5B19A3272272BF81B271D9FAC0C93233A76/
