Unique real-time mechanics are a game changer for the genre
I anticipate that this stylish turn-based combat from Persona 5 mixed in with these unique real-time mechanics is going to usher in a whole new sub-genre we will be referring to as " clairobscurlike" in the years to come.

I get that these mechanics can be a bit jarring to stalwarts of the turn-based genre but the game does gives you enough sound and visual clues. You need to observe.

Also when the game is loading it gives you hints. One of those hints is that If you struggling with parrying then utilise dodge until you have learnt the enemies attack patterns.

You will notice that when you are dodging you will get a notification on the battle screen that your character was successful with their dodge by displaying "dodge" on the screen.

If your are dodging and you are getting "perfect" on the screen then that means you are hitting the parry windows so perhaps you should guess what? Now try parrying.

For me personally this has to be the new gold standard for the turn-based genre moving forward.

Well done Sandfall interactive for moving the genre forward.

I agree 100%, this is what final fantasies combat shouldve evolved into instead of abandoning turn based entirely.

mmmm not to break your world but Mario RPG have been doing that for years... Still it is implemented very well here.

Yeah, "unique". A bunch of games have done it before though...
are you aware this has been done several times before? just off the top of my head... 'mario rpg' way back on supe rnintendo... there was also... what was it, vagrant story? the one with 'ashley riot' the 'risk breaker'.
