The 'Gestral Beach Rafting Volley Club' Game is WAY to hard
Especially when the inputs aren't properly recognized. It happens way too often that nothing happens when I try to shoot back. Whether it's on the controller or the keyboard, often no shot comes out. And with the amount of Gestrals shooting at you and the precise timing required in the last game, it's just impossible to win and it drives me insane.

Please, dear developer, please fix this.

Turn gamma up so you can actually see the baby makes it 10x easier.
Same problem elsewhere, the "wave" that was sent out has issues both vertically and horizontally. (a little bit of elevation difference can make it fail to hit)
Yeah, for me this is the worse part of the game so far.
the problem is the long recovery time on the attack so if you time the first one wrong you put yourself on a death spiral
oh yes this mini game was a pain in the ass i beat it after 20 times because i got lucky with the rng and the Saka was launching most of his rocket at the middle espacially the burning one but without that yeaaah it's almost not doable at all the timing and the hitbox of your attack sucks so much ass that sometimes it misses when it shouldn't

That mini game was tough but there's a rhythm to it. The key to beating the last one is to stand in the middle and face the appropriate direction, holding run helps you get into position. The hit box of your melee attack is large enough that you shouldn't need to reposition yourself too much. After that it's just a matter of learning the rhythm. The little Gestrels will make a sound just before they launch themselves towards your raft. Use that as your que.

While everyone here is whining to no end about how hard this is and trying to find workarounds this actually made it REALLY easy for me, and I got it after two more tries. God people really are just so easily put off by any challenge. People are so entitled. Everyone has to be a winner, always. No exceptions. Thanks dude.

Protip for tldr: just hold down the right trigger (run button) the entire time as you reposition. It helps you turn faster and speeds up your recovery dramatically.

I can pretty much do this event reliably, in fact I find it pretty fun. Love that they just don't hand it to you.

Best part, the reward is great. Sciel looks great in her bathing suit! <3

I managed to complete the hardest one after an hour of trying & yeah, the long recovery time to push the gestral back is rather annoying. Not helped that the controls can be rather unintuitive with keyboard + mouse (in which I have used).

How I did it was the following for the hardest one:

1. The gestrals are expected to hit the areas where the pile of planks are located on your boat. Have your character position on those spots or behind them slightly in a straight or diagonal position towards them if possible. (think NW-N-NE on a compass, position them in that position facing the opponent.)

2. While using my keyboard, I used shift+W+A for the left lane (default sprint + diagonal positioning), followed by shift+W+D to sprint to the other lanes followed by a quick W+D/W+A to position the character. (Will need a bit of practice to familiarise)

3. For my case, I focused on one of the 2 side lanes (left and centre for me because I cannot focus on the right lane easily), unfortunately I had to pray that there were not many left and right gestrals at the same time.

4. I had to make sure I hit the timing right for one gestral, if you miss, you will have to tank a 2nd hit so you can have the recovery time to hit the 3rd gestral (also why I dislike the long recovery time). This applies to step 3 unless there is a burning gestral, you may need to go and hit it.

5. Repeat step 1-2, accounting to step 4 in mind, and you will have a sig. higher chance on beating the hardest one.

Download Cheat Engine, check Enable Speedhack and set it at 0.25 and thank me later. Doing this minigame legit is just not worth it with how clunky the controls are unless the devs fix it. Just a small blotch in an otherwise fantastic game.
the iossue is that the controls suck, not the game is hard. the fact you can't change facing without stepping forward makes the hard one literally impossible if the direction changes too much because your position changes enough your huit box is off

they really need to just make it so you stand still and only have to worry about facing

I haven't read any of these posts but I beat this mini-game before even going to "The Forgotten Battlefield" & the hardest difficulty took me no more than 10 tries. Yes, the angle looks very off and weird but it's truly not that difficult.

literally the problem actually, you can't NOT reposition to change directions and thats what causes the issue. if you could not reposition every time you change facings it wouldn't be so bad

Turning down the visual effects helped a lot on hard, the problem is that on High and above the particle effects were so much that I could not see the next gestral. I think thats an oversight on the minigame.

I want the stream where devs beating this ♥♥♥♥ themselfs. And every time they fail they get a good smack with wet towel on thier faces

It really wasn't that bad. Took a few tries, but the only hard one is the last one because he fires 2 at a time.

You know, I was here when the thread was made and somehow managed to resist posting ''skill issue''.

If it wasn't hard you wouldnt find it annoying. :Tio:
I genuinely believe that this is one of the worst mini games I've played in my life.
