Pay attention to elemental damage of weapons when equipping them, as it may neuter your characters (Gustave when not using his lightning limit break, adopts the element of his sword for ALL his attack skills including the gun which if you run into enemies immune to the particular element makes him irrelevant to the fight).
Once you unlock the ability to upgrade weapons, LEAVE FOR CAMP AND DO SO.
Finally, almost every enemy attack has a distinct sound cue in it which is when you should be hitting the dodge/parry button to land a perfect dodge/parry. Eat a few strikes to the face while listening intently, you'll eventually be able to tell the empty flourishes from actual dangerous strikes.
There's a Pictos for 50\50 chance of 50% damage or 200% damage for each attack. Fun times.
I learned that a lot of enemies that will use a ranged attack will make a sound cue right before the attack. It's helped me a lot.
Change any skin, then game will autosave
Early game put 10 in vitality or/and might focus on it weapon scaling early is weak
Maelle is such an odd character and can fill both spectrums. You can jack her up with defense and vit and spam guard up / egide / mezzo forte for your team and never touch parry or dodge again.
Or you can equip the gestral fight club pictos on her and solo the entire game oneshotting everything. (You can just remove everyone else from your party).
It feels like adding stats to damage barely do anything. It’s like 10% damage vs 100% more HP.
