DO NOT change dodge or parry!
You literally wrote, that parry is harder and if players feels it - they should try dodging.
It is like that
It works

This is one of key mechanics in fight, it helps avoid a lot of dmg and deal a lot of dmg
It not always works AND ITS FINE
By like hour 4 I, casual old gamer, was able to easily parry/dodge like 70+% of enemy strikes evem when I faced them FIRST time
And what I missed - I can heal. Because..you know..healing mechanics

You ARE SUPPOSED to get hit. To miss. To use tactic, healing. Strong enemies are supposed to be strong.
You ARE NOT supposed to dodge/parry 100% of hits easily lol.
It helps you deal massive dmg and avoid everything. Game would make no sense in that case. Just press X to win. Oh wait. You like such games. Right?

Modern gamers can't stand fact that they need to do something by themselves
You have to LEARN how to play. Wow, bummer, right? You can't be master of a game in an instant and that frustrates you.
On Medium difficulty game feels like... medium difficulty
FINALLY
Because big studios had to play around fragile "souls" of poor modern gamers that cant stand any challenge and defeat.
They name difficulty "Hard" and make it easy so that weak gamer's ego wont get crushed in first 10 minutes

And now finally game challenges you with medium challenges on medium difficulty - and gamers started crying.

Dont listen to them
Let them switch to Easy and hurt their pride.
Or...oh...unacceptable in 2025...let them...LEARN something new?

If your reaction is bad you can literally turn off QTE's and etc. Go on. You will be fine.
For the 100th time. On attacks you can. Not for defence.
Diehard action fans like to skip dialogues to go straight to gameplay
Here, they skip reading previous posts to post their own comment.

So, in essence, "I can do it", so f*ck people who can't. Yeah, that's very nice of you. How graceful.
Now you are no different from DEI who want full inclusivity
Remarkable resemblance

A game for everyone is a game for no one.
Yes it's a turn based RPG with real time mechanics - even has a difficulty slider. The battle system is easy, just takes some critical thinking to learn the boss mechanics. Soon all the JRPG purist neckbeard scrubs on here that don't want to learn them will give up and whine somewhere else bc they can't have their hand held by the devs
The game already has a "Story" difficulty. If you sum up what some people are asking for: It's basically an additional difficulty setting in-between "Story" and "Normal" that (in contrast to "Story") requires strategy to succeed, but not the reflexes required by all present settings above "Story".
I fail to see how the addition of such a setting could hurt anyone.

If it happens: Awesome
If it doesn't: Well, people with disabilities or older people will have to sit through braindead battles, which isn't optional but still allows people to watch the story unfold.

It's a bit irritating how some people could feel hurt on a personal level by other people posting the mere request.

Calm down babe. Us friendly JRPG players aren't that scary and won't hurt you, I promise :DawnHearts:
easy mode parry are just easier af ( skill issue tbh ) compared to hard mode ( souls like timing ) i do enjoy that alot but this game definitely better play on console or with controller. on kbm its bit janky

You can use a trainer, no one will know or care. It's a single player game and options would be nice but you can already cheat, trainers about all over the place

Are they already up?

I'll take a flat reduction in damage in lieu of parrying mechanics anyday.

You are made entirely out of straw at this point.
many games get nerfed these days due to baby gamers, thats why despite all the issues of playing a game at launch I feel I need to so I can beat the true version before it gets gutted.

congrats that you have learnt how to dodge.

Some people have ♥♥♥♥ reaction speeds, some people have disabilities which slow them down or just plain have missing fingers etc.

Adding an optional option doesn't detract from your gameplay
Do you have a disability?
I learned, admittedly very late, that there are attacks that you better just dodge. I only dodged in the tutorial and kinda hit a wall with the guy that projectile vomits at you. And holy ♥♥♥♥ was it much more easy to dodge his shots than trying to parry them.

Depending on the attack, you also have different cues. Some attacks are better to parry by sound, others are better to parry buy visual cues.

I even think about disabling autoupdates lol, cause there are no perfomance or bug issues for me, but what I definitely don't want to see is this game becoming another "Press X to Win" sony title

I believe most of the players expected a succesor of FFX and LO, but it's actually a Souls-like game, but with a twist as it's turnbased a la a JRPG but parry/dodge are heavily routed into it. JRPG's are there for to relax, grind, getting items, tactis, enjoy the story. LO had attacing QTE's, but they are not so intrustive as the defending QTE's in CO.
I think the attacks could use a visual clue, like a shimmer/flash of light or perhaps even slowmotion.

That said I think once you get the hang of it it's gets better. The story is what's the most interesting personally for me now. I've fun and it's get better. It's mostly an advertising error of the developers by saying it's a JRPG, while it's actually s Souls-like without realtime movement, etc.

It's not a souls-like, it's a Lies-of-P-like. Every enemy has a weird, cryptic wind-up that you can't properly tell the end of and that takes like 2 seconds, followed by a 5-frame-attack.

Souls games actually give you visual clues when to react, and even the music is designed to be in sync with the bosses. Which was literally why so many people struggled with Dancer of the Boreal Valley in DS3 - she was the only boss that fights with a 3/4 rhythm, so players subconsciously were thrown off balance. THAT is how you design clean games around parry and dodge.

LoP and this game derive difficulty from these spring-loaded animations that are impossible to actually react to on the higher difficulty and you have straight up memorize them.
