I'm surprised this game is so popular

Tried it on gamepass. What an incredibly dreary and boring start to the game.

There is nothing that compels me to play it. How did this review so well?

If a game does not grab my full attention within the first 30-60 mins, it is not worth playing.

Because others might not like the same things you do, and vice versa? People aren't a monolith when it comes to what they think of games.

I would have thought this was an obvious and natural conclusion to what you're asking, but maybe not.

Yeah I wouldn't take your opinion into consideration when you put that much time into a game that takes about 20 hours to 100% on the hardest difficulty with no real replay value. Gaming equivalent to TikTok brainrot.

Doom: The Dark Ages just came out if you want non-stop explosions and 0 story. It's also on Game Pass.

But funnily enough, looking at the Steam numbers, E33 is doing WAY better than Doom, so that says something.

Plenty of replay value with community master levels and maps. It's a much more enjoyable game than Expedition 33. The gameplay for Doom Eternal is absolutely unmatched.
