they had scheduled its release for 2013, and they are currently Working on Sacriligieum so its a good bet they canceled it, but I'll keep an eye on their site in case things change http://www.realitypump.com/en/company.html

The point is... the development of Sacrilegium take more time than originaly planed, so Earth 2170 is delayed SINE DIE...

I do hope for another Earth game but i doubt it will happen. So many years has passed after the release of 2160 and they didn't even make an expansion.
I guess the only possibility we see a new Earth game is through some fan projects (like New Earth Project on moddb).

I guess it's dead for good 0:

What about Sacrilegium?
a sequel can still happen. just look at starcraft. starcraft 2 was released at least 12 years after the original starcraft.

Earth 2170 was a largely missed opportunity. I wish atleast some company or group of developers would pick it up from the ground and actually finish the final phase of the story. It was *originally* supposed to be worked upon, but it was simply archived, forgotten and left that way. I doubt there was even any development on it in the first place, to be honest.

When so many folks look at 2140, 2150 and 2160, the first two were very compelling but 2160 could have had a bit more added to its lore, it felt pretty small in comparison to the others. There might be many that would need to play the entire series again to understand its background but really was hoping for years (and still am) waiting for the last installment to appear.

But sadly, I doubt it's going to appear.

if you think that 2170 could be, then what lore could it be ? in 2160 humanity found new planet for home which they did, so what could happen now ?

(Spoilers for anyone who hasn't completed E-2160!)

Noticing that the Khan Dynasty is still very much alive from 2140 and 50, they are still the supreme rulers of the Eurasian Dynasty in 2160+...

The LC is still as protective of their own measures in every way from their introduction in 2150...

And the United Civilized States is still their own isolative selves that think pleasurizing their lives goes above everything else, so yay robot armies from 2140 onwards!

Despite the fact that some of their forces defected and joined the Aliens because of mind controlling parasites (but mostly because of power lustery and greed), they were swiftly defeated by the combined forces of rebel LC and ED troops, especially with one-hundred-percent of the might that was the UCS.

It was seen that the gates at the end of 2160 were opening up some kind of portal, bringing forth an even greater threat potentially from the other side which would most likely force all of humanity, disregarding factions entirely, together.

If it were me deciding the lore for 2170, we would be combining the Lost Souls, GOLAN remnants, rogue traders, the UCS, ED and LC together (and potentially aliens that followed Falkner) to fight the very last war that will determine the future of our entire species.

It could be either of the following that the gates are bringing forth during the ending of 2160:

1. More of the Morphidians we were fighting and by that I mean extremely pissed off ones this time...

2. The sworn enemy of the Morphidians (they are called "The Builders" and have shown to be part of 2150, like FANG's craft) that are trying to eradicate them, but also view us as an affront, and will attempt to eliminate us, too.

So let's say we go for option #2.

So, when the gates opened, what ever remains of the shattered LC fleet and the remnant ED fleets above Eden, including the UCS Phoenix and the now-settled-down-and-non-agroed Morphidian ships (aliens) will be protecting the planet from siege, but not only this but the OTHER gates throughout the game that were found were also activated, so numerous planets under LC, UCS and ED control are all fighting this one common foe (that might include rogue alien hives from 2160 that survived).

Mars was the resting place of the Morphidians, so the answer to defeating the nigh-unstoppable new faction, aka; the Builders, lies deep within the Sol System on Mars itself. So, we could travel between star systems to try and either communicate with the Builders to reach a settlement, or we could try to build a weapon of some sorts that would allow us to defeat them.

Remember when the UCS was guarding something and the ED footsoldiers interrupted the guarding process and destroyed the UCS bots, there? There were many important areas like that, that were left unchecked.

However, much of the other planets in Sol were also left untouched, so not only is Mars slightly terraformed (or maybe more than it should be), but planets like Titan, Venus, Mercury etc will be intact. So let's say humanity's instincts kick in once again, and the ED and UCS starts to battle each other over a period of time for control of what is left of our solar system because it is unclaimed territory. In 2150 you could choose who to ally with as the LC (the UCS was the canon choice), since diplomacy was their thing.

So, let's say this was brought back into 2170. The choice will available to you again, but the faction you choose to ally will force one of the other factions that will finally be destroyed once and for all, and it cannot be the LC because of storyline basis and lore reasons. It is either you ally with the ED, or ally the UCS. However, once you are about to deliver the killing blow to the faction you choose to destroy, "The Builders" follow you to Sol, and will attempt to stop you from gathering much needed information or resources that will help you destroy them, since Eden, our new home, is under siege.

With one final agreement, setting all disputes between the factions one last time, the final remainders of either the ED (the canon choice that should be for 2170) or UCS will be forced to eventually "die off" as a last vanguard act to defend humanity from a genocidal and extinction-level war, as they use their faction's grasp of super weapons to destroy themselves whilst you evacuate, but take much of the builder invasion force with them.

However, the aliens that you absolutely wreck at the end of 2160, will replace the faction (primarily the ED) that you destroyed and will act as your allies or another playable faction that comes back to show "The Builders" a good ass-kicking like they did with them AEONS ago.

As you progress through the story, "The Builder's" invasion intensifies, making the game harder the further you progress. But, once you reach the critical point in the story, the final confrontation happens ON EDEN itself, where the Overlord of 'The Builders' will be, and you finally meet him/her/it. You learn that either through vital information or construction of a super weapon that is your last hope, can you only destroy 'The Builder's' and stop their genocidal campaign of the Morphidians and Humanity, due to the fact that Earth was destroyed and 'The Builders' are attempting to protect Eden (the planet humanity colonizes in 2160), you also learn that Eden was 'The Builders' homeworld, and will believe until their dieing breath that humanity is nothing more than a 'galactic staining virus' and the Morphidians to be 'a reluctant plague in their absence'.

Killing the Builder's Overlord brings an end to the Genocidal campaign, and finally, Humanity can settle and also made peace with the Builders and Morphidians, without the need for anymore bloodshed, learned their lesson that it took an extinction-levelling event to bind everyone together, having all factions of humanity left, disband, which causes the LC and the UCS (or the ED if you chose them to live) and finally combine under one solemn flag.

However, with the destruction of The Builder's Overlord, their species retreats through the portals, leaving them deactivated in their wake. They are left as a reminder of the terrible tragedies that has gotten them this far, and instead, rename the planet 'Eden' to 'New Earth', and shows human civilization being restored, stronger and more united than before.

This then brings the final conclusion to the Earth series, where everything typed here is the final installment that should be 2170.

Any feedback would be nice, too. It was all thought about after much deliberation from the three past games and their expansions.

Earth series were unique. Nothing was and will be like it. However, a remake / remaster of the first two games would be glorious in all aspects.

though this might be late another possibility would be a campaign similar to Supreme Commanders Add-On Forged Alliances where u play the same Story viewed by the different angles the factions have on the situation at hand
