Earth 2160

Earth 2160

ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?
I bought the License on Steam --- ok
I activated it with entering the key -- ok
I need to enter my
Birth date-- meh
email -- meh
real name-- Not and i repeat NOT , never ever ok
my adress-- this is never ok
and it also would be a really happy product if i would enter my phone number ,

really not ok !
Worst part : if oyu dont activate, you can only use the game in the Demo mode, this DRM is going FAR behind what is acceptable and shouldnt be bought by anyone that even wants a inch of privacy.
What is wrong with you even thinking about demanding it ?!?!

I entered wrong infos because in my countrys there s Law outweighting your privacy intruding software by far !

really disgusting behaviour

Hea, you worried about Steam knowing all your info.... what about the NSA, and the other government outfits??? No imformation of yours is private anywhere! lol

Steam doesnt knows all my info, and even if they do they are still the guy i am dealing money with, the game doesnt need all this stuff to work.
And comparing a old comutergame with a tax funded mafia oranisation like the NSA is a bit far stretched

The game was made in 2006. Not only did they have a better excuse for this sort of DMR then, but it was far easier to falsify your information (In other words; who gives a ♥♥♥♥ if you have to put that stuff in? You can put whatever you want in.). Also, the developers wont stalk you. Chances are, they won't even look at what you put in. They probably just wanted to have it in case they could use it to sue or something.

If you want something looking legit, find a random name generator, and then find a random but real location somewere you would like (In the US, UK, etc).

Also, this:

Hey, dont you have to give that kinda info to Steam itself anyway? Steam as in the software program used to download games? And if that info isnt correct your account is viable for termination because you can use the account for fraud? Funny that...

You're more paranoid than I am. They aren't going to be stalking you or sending you junk mail if you put in your real info. The game was made in 2006, calm yourself.

Starlight Oct 15, 2014 @ 2:26pm

Peen Oct 15, 2014 @ 2:30pm
Do you not realize that this game was released in 2006? Of course they aren't updating it.

Also, servers go down all the time. They get fixed. Calm yourself.
Starlight Oct 15, 2014 @ 2:41pm
It can not be allowed to sell game demos on steam for $$$ if its not working cuz of 2006, but if they fix it, I can thank them

Boycott this game, boycott this dev, boycott these invasive practices. Steam should have rules against it. In addition:

"In 2005 Zuxxez Entertainment hired law firm Schutt-Waetke to charge more than 18,000 German filesharers for copyright violation. Fines between 150 to 650 Euros were levied.[1] The producer Dirk Hassinger had noticed there were far more players on the online game server than registered buyers (all the game's copy protections systems had been hacked and a small program was automatically generating serial numbers), leading him to start monitoring the filesharing networks for illegal shares.[1] The Swiss firm Logistep offered him a package that would gather data valid for legal actions and automatically generate the charges ready for digital submission to the court in Karlsruhe.[1] Two weeks later Hassinger's lawyer submitted one CDROM containing 13,700 charges to the court, each one also printed as a courtesy. By post each defendant received an offer: pay 50 Euros now and the case is dropped. Hassinger's lawyers also sent demands that each downloader sign an undertaking to never again share copyrighted software, plus an invoice for 200 to 500 Euros.[1]"
