What's wrong with food/water consumption?
90% of my game time all I'm doing is running around looking for food, cooking and eating.
Ok, now I have companions to do that for me, but still food and water consumption is higher than crocodile and elephant together. And there is no option to tune it down. Eating and drinking 10 times per 24h is abnormal.

Yeah these kind of games eating and drinking should be a BONUS not MANDATORY TO STAY ALIVE.

it literally takes me a few seconds to gather a stack of mussels and not worry about food for the whole day

I'd recommend when you scout your village location that you abuse that Z button, locate at least 2, maybe 3 of the scooped rocks that collect water when it rains. You can turn those into wells and you'll have a good supply of water.

Like most survival games, surviving starts out hard.... then winter hits and it becomes harder ;)

Yeah, built 2 wells already, but there is something wrong with villagers food consumption. They can live few days without food, but after I filled the food storage they are eating non-stop from there. Have no idea what I can do about it :S

Do you not have food production automated? i've just got 1 forager and 1 farmer supplying my 10 villagers and we have plenty of food. Plus the 1 set to the campfire to cook it. Anytime I bring food back is just a bonus or because I killed something while out exploring.

Really? Teach me how did you do that!
Any amount of food in cooking task more than 1 making villagers to FREAKING BURN ALL FOOD! x5 and more, yes, they can taker from storage, put x5 food for cooking, but they take out ONLY ONE then put 1 new piece meanwhile other 4 are getting BURNT.
Ok? We are playing different games?

The discrepancy between food availability, decay and consumption and water is jarring. It's insanely easy to acquire water, but food is far too scarce, and decays too quickly by comparison. I'd like to see more animals to farm for meat early on, like Valheim does with boars and necks, and a bow that isn't awful to hunt them with. or make a few that don't run away when you fight them.

idk man, i guess that could be a throughput issue - as in the cook is trying to make too many items at once. Every couple of days I'll check on the food and throw a couple mushrooms on the grill or cook up meat if I go hunting since I don't have that set up yet, but just keeping 1 guy cooking all day usually feeds everyone.

I watched the cook at the campfire just for fun and I never saw him let any food turn to coal. Yes he goes 1 at a time but since they're right next to each other he doesn't have to move so its as fast as he can look between the two inventories.

They can also eat raw food like you said and they should be keeping some food on them for during the day. I haven't seen every villager rush the campfire since they all usually have some carrots or cabbages on them.

I agree its really immersion breaking and makes it crazy hard to do anything else..

Food is honestly super easy. 1 forager in a good location with a few extra flags set basically carried me and my 10 man village through the winter. I went out and killed a few wolves as well. The BBQ station is ok, but really you want to get to the cookhouse so you can start making soups.

I didn't even use the farm for food, I used it for fiber lol. And then the bear wrecked it later too. So if I had enough stockpile to make it through the winter (barely, but I did it) without even using the farm then yall gotta be doing something wrong.

its called a survival game it should be hard to stay full, plus ur working all day, have u never done masonry? When you slugging 12inc blocks all day, i easily drink like 15-20 bottles of water in less in 8 hours because u need it trust me

Water consumption is fine but food consumption is out of whack...I pity the fool that has to eat like 5 heads of cabbage a day to live...he must have one sore arse from alll the pooping.....

I had like 1 guy doing wood, 1 doing stone, 2 gathering and one guy making tools/helping with building with 3 good location flagged and it worked fine at first but then they started to complain about not finding anything as stuff was respawning fast enough.

I had a farm with two fields one flax and one cabbage but never got a cabbage harvest...the farm just didnt seem very reliable tbh.

I spend most of my time looking for water. This is not acceptable until you have the rain catcher.
