How many farm do we need to feed one city?
I have this and not enough harvest to feed one city is there something wrong?
(all the harvest is processed it isnt a bottleneck)

Yes,you need more. On my test game, the farm did take a bit more surface than the city (very approximately)
The idea is that they are easy to add, so you can add a lot, and this way it really takes a lot of space (like fields in reality) and "competes" with forests for fertile lands.

But it's still early beta, it can be balanced , depending of the feedbacks
And there is not yet the Info page about it to explain it

Still going through the 0.9.x update, was busy refactoring transport networks and doing various optimizations.

One thing to consider is that the city sizes relative population are immense. A ~100 K city takes a decent chunk of the planet's surface.

I will grow my cities to 1 M each before making any judgement, but it sounds like you'll need a massive area for farms if you want cities that go beyond 1 M (each). Perhaps some of the food demand could be covered by regular food? Just a thought.

The "quality food" (if you have a better name i'm open to suggestions lol) does requires classic food + farm harvest :-)
(detail : it's v0.9.0 beta update, v0.9.x are future v0.9.1 etc)

But yes, the idea was to really take a very large area (while not being too tedious to make) - to have a different challenge than other industries
ok thx il spam them then
By the way I tried making seed from harvest and it isnt worth it, it should be at least 2x seed imo

1 harvest -> 1 seed, but 1 seed on a 100% efficient hexagon will give 3 harvest. So ratio x3
ok

How exactly to the farm and silos work? Ar you supposed to have a silo with x6 surrounding farms, but each silo also needs rail (road) access? OP's screenshot implies otherwise.
Gaddy Games  [developer] Feb 28 @ 1:16am
Silo "consume" containers of Field Seeds, and push them into the "silo network" (all farms and silos linked, you can see the links when you select them).
And they "produce" containers of Harvest, retreiving them from the silo network.
Their containers work as any other container, depots nearby will move them.
It's very similar to a city supply centers and waste disposals.

There will be an Info page to explain it, not yet done

Ah I see. Thanks!
This topic really confused me, too. After some experimentation (putting a single farm, depot, silo, and various combinations), it seems to be like this:

* Have at least one 'gateway' silo at the front of the network, to provide seeds to the network and to gather harvest from the network.
* Add depots only around the silo (not the farms; a depot doesn't seem to interact with a farm at all).
* A farm needs to get seeds from, and give harvest to, a silo *in the network* (doesn't have to be connected directly to the silo. A farm will send harvest through another farm, and another, etc., until it gets to a linked silo).

If I'm wrong about any of that, dev, please correct me -

That's it, all farms and silo together create a network, and you add depot to load/unload the network, through silo.
A bit similar to city with supply center/waste disposal.
The info page is not clear enough about it, you think?
Building the farms and how to get items in/out of them does take some experimentation, but is easy to understand once you get it. What I would like to see is a way to figure out how much harvest you're making. Otherwise it's "spam farms until you think it's enough, then make some more anyway".

you can see how much it did actually harvest last year, isn't that enough?
I'll have to look again. I took a break from the game.
Right, it's each individual farm.

I'll just estimate and build more. I have to come back to how I figured out how many seeds a farm should need and balancing harvest for seeds and food. Some other time though.
