How do you cover 5% of the surface with a forest?
I am unlocking level 16 now.
However, 5% of the surface must be covered by forest.
However, pine trees do not grow in cold weather.
Now it's up to 2.8%.

you have to increase the temperature with greenhouse gases

check near the equator it's warmer. You can check the average temperature on the bar at the bottom of the screen

Thanks. The trees I have created keep on dying. I guess trees don't like -13C weather as much as people. :p.

Set up both kinds of greenhouse gas generators and keep them fed - the graphs are logarithmic so can look like they've stopped, but keep going. Find sulphur next to fluorite anywhere on the planet and link them up, no need to ship them to cities. Similarly put ice extractors next to fluorite near the poles for NF6.

What is the minimum temp needed for trees to grow?
The_Mess Apr 22, 2023 @ 1:51am
3°C for Pines, 10°C for Eucalyptus, wont grow below those temperatures, which change with latitude and altitude across the planet.

Also, you don't physically plant the 5% of needed trees, that would take... well... a long time to create them in factories. Planted trees will, however, propgate into even more trees on their own if they're planted in wet soil - 'green' areas on the water map. Wet ground is NOT to be confused with surface water, though surface water tends to appear at the 'center' of those green moisture areas, be it lakes, or rivers. You CAN plant trees anywhere on the map that's warm enough for them and they'll survive, but they won't grow more trees unless it's wet enough ground under them. Thankfully, you can plant trees by clicking directly on the moisture map, that way you don't have to keep going back and forth, looking at the water map, then trying to click the main screen where you think that spot is. Just click on green areas on the water map or 'hold' the button for continuous drawing/planting of trees in whatever shape you want. Those will then grow themselves to the 5% coverage needed to reach that goal (then even more than that as the temps rise and water coverage expands).

Nah, if you mass produce them, which is what I did, you make thousands of them. I actually need to remove my tree assemblers as I have 20000+ eucalyptus trees + 4000 pines.
