Developers, Can you add a Villain mode? [Karen]

Can you guys please add a mode where we can play as the Villains? I REALLY wanna play as Karen that Boxing girl! I love her design and her animations!

Ha ha, well adding any new playable character is quite a bit of work, and Karen would require new animations for jumping, grabbing throwing, specials, victory, player selection etc Originally we were considering allowing you to play as an unmasked Kane, but there seems to be a lot of love for Karen! We'll keep our ear to the ground and if there's enough demand and if we have time then we'll try to make it happen. :)

Most of the enemy designs are cool. Wouldn't say no to any of them being playable. (Ivy too). Or new characters too. I'm fine with anything if you wish to expand in that direction.

Do we have an update on this? We're halfway into September now and I don't feel like asking for an update at this point is unreasonable. Just curious. :)
