This game is just amazing and it's one of those games you really have to play once in your life. The remaster makes it look so much better. I was shocked to see how many graphic and other settings are in this game, you can customize it like I've never seen before in any game. The story is what's the best thing about this game and you can replay it so many times and it will always be nice to watch all the cutscenes again and again. Really recommend this game if you haven't played it yet.

I have wanted to play this game for years, and after recently getting into the HBO show, I have completely fallen in love with the story and characters. I have even listened to all the episodes from the podcast.

I was on the fence getting this game for PC, especially after seeing Digital Foundry's review showcasing what a technical mess this port was after release and still major issues months later.

I saw that this game had overwhelmingly positive recent reviews, and it was difficult to really see for sure if they had fixed this port or not, and so I decided to go ahead and get it. Couldn't wait.

I have to say, that although the game itself is an absolute masterpiece and one of my favorite games, this PC port is in really bad shape. At this point I have played through the game entirely, including the DLC Left Behind. Playing on a Razer Blade 17 3070Ti 8 GB Ram (3060Ti Desktop equivalent), I have found it impossible to achieve a smooth performance on any settings other than Low or Very Low with DLSS also on.

I encountered massive framerate drops all over the place, frame hitching, and several weird graphical glitches, like the flashlight casting an inverted light for almost an entire segment of the game. There is also an issue where the controller thumbstick deadzone is set to what feels like 20-30% and this made aiming throughout the entire game very difficult. (I researched this thoroughly, found many other players having this issue, and no fix. A big bummer since I'm playing with a Pro Controller that can handle 3% deadzone with no drift.)

Overall, with my specs, I just find this game mostly unplayable in it's current state, and with it being 2 years after release, it doesn't seem likely that it will ever be updated properly.

In it's current state, I would be happy with my purchase for about $10. That's how bad this port is, even though, once again, the game itself is amazing.

It's sad that something that is so beloved by so many fans is delivered to PC gamers in such an awful condition. This should not be okay, to release a game in a this condition and for the price of a new game.

Maybe if you have a GTX 4070 or higher, you might have a decent experience, but if you have something that is the equivalent of my specs or less, don't get it.

Played this on PS3 way back in 2015, I must say this remake is good but not as good as the remastered one.
