Left Behind is the worst part of this game
Just finished the main game last night and I love it. This morning I tried to finish Left Behind so that I can uninstall the game and move on. But I just couldn't finish it.

It's so damn horrible, it's like it was made by a different dev team from the main game or something? Idk. It keeps switching back and forth between the past and present, the present part was decent, but the past part was one of the worst game scenarios I've been played through recently.

First of all, I'm more like a Japanese entertainment media consumer, so I'm not that used to the western crap, especially their 202X's political content. But I'm very open for all sorts of love. Ellie & Riley's relationship isn't an issue to me. But the way they present it is very very very horrible. It's like they want to make people hate this kind of stuff instead of normalizing it. For god's sake.

Plus, Riley's character is so unlikable. Think logically, someone with a characteristic like Ellie, a straight forward girl, should never get along with someone like Riley, let's be real.

These western creators should try to learn from the Japanese. The way they do yaoi and yuri stuff and people love those stuff, and it's been like that since the 80's or something. Japan is actually way ahead of you Americans when it comes to making good LGBT content.

Back to this Left Behind thing. I hate all the mini games and the slow pace of the story. Whatever story the devs were trying to tell me, or to unfold their relationship or whatever, all of them were done very poorly. I couldn't even finish it. After the watergun battle I just snapped, Alt+F4, and uninstall the game.

How could this sidestory be so bad compared to the main game?

Oh the Irony, So you play a game which you call "western crap" knowing what it is and then come here and complain it was not what you expected? So you expected it to be "Japanese entertainment media" like.................. ?? You must be disappointed with your purchase now, Maybe they should have made a game just for you to play so they can save you a trip to come to these forums and complain about TLOU not being more like "Japanese entertainment media"

Just wow OP

FYI, But this content isn't "202X political" in any way shape or form, This is a game coming originally from 2013 on the PS3, with Left behind coming later in 2014 IIRC.

I didn't think left behind was that bad tbh, It's meant to be a back story which shows how ellie got infected and how she found that she was immune to the cordyceps in the first place and imo it does a good job of showing that.

As a bi curious pan sexual, I just love ♥♥♥♥♥ tbh so lesbians always confused me since they don't have any and are my least favorite ( no offense meant ) of the bunch.

You tihnk people choose who they love? Lots of people love people that aren't good for them, or hold up a minute...they CHANGE with time too.

When was the last time you went outdoors? 2019? Covid scared a lot of people into thinking this game was real.

I’m late to the franchise but after seeing the series I had to try it. Main game is awesome story and gameplay. Left behind is slow, no new gameplay/styles and a LBTQ-frenzy. Had to quit after 20m of playing because of the lame ass story and gameplay. Im gay, not that I should need to declare it, but I hate when movies/games are more about pushing some agenda than actually telling a compelling story or focus on awesome gameplay.

If you don't like it, just don't play it? Sounds like you got your money's worth with the main game. It's sad that you don't like the expansion, but I fail to see what good you think complaining about it is going to do.

Lol and what "agenda" is being pushed within the first 20 minutes of Left Behind?

It's part of the backstory, Ellie's infection was as a result of going out of the quarantine zone with her girlfriend who also happened to be a firefly, Who would face death if caught by Fedra.

It's not "pushing an agenda" at all, It's giving context to the events that started Ellie's journey.

The problem is that you are seeing the kiss and the obvious relationship Ellie has with Riley as virtue signalling but it's not about that, You gotta read between the lines and look at the whole picture rather than what's on screen.

Listen to the dialogue, watch the way the two interact even right at the start.

The fact that Ellie and Riley are an item only gives context as to the reason why Riley snuck into Ellies room to begin with, Since Riley is moving away and won't be able to see Ellie anymore.

I don't think they have a romantic relationship. It seems more like Ellie has a crush on Reilly, and that kiss was her tentative expression of it. Anyway, it's not even a theme that is developed further - it is only for storytelling context.

How the hell people supposed to know beforehand that the DLC is bad? Especially when the main game is such an amazing game?
