Refund twice?

I have 84 TLOU minutes logged and got a no questions asked refund within 2 hours when I tried playing 2 days after launch day. Was that 1.0? It was a disaster.

Now that the adults are claiming it's tolerable, I'm tempted to re-purchase the game and give 1.0.4.1 a try. Will I be SOL if I find myself in a similar situation after repurchasing and giving it another 84 minutes? Will Steam find the grace to refund it twice if it is still unplayable? Does my gamodometer reset if I purchase the new version?

I actually got steam just to play this game, so my library of 2 games (one was a dollar LOL) doesn't get me any loyalty points.

You can technically refund as often as you want, but your total time doesn't reset and your ownership date starts from your first time purchased.

2 hours played (total) and 2 weeks owned (from original not second buy)

Or since your account is of no real value anyway you could just start a new account and buy it there.

I don't have the answer, but I think if you buy TLOU again, you will have to load the shaders again and you will pass the 120 minutes, and if not, you will have maybe 3 minutes to test it.

I can confirm it's better now (at least for me with my very very old config) since the texture streaming speed has come in the graphic settings, I could even turn some settings to ultra, something that was unthinkable before.
Still not perfect, but much better than v1

Thanks for the helpful comment Mary from Hocus Pocus. If you smell children it's because my daughter is about Ellie's age, and several other dads told me this game would resonate deeply with us.

I do not "smell children" & my name not Mary , If you want try the tlou again then do so , the playtime counter will be reset for your second perches of the game so refund rule's still apply's

gotta agree to kunovega. you got no value on your account. make a new account to make sure you get the full 2 hours of testing. make sure your settings and vram are not over the top. the 3070 reportedly seems to be one of those cards to trigger weird things like video memory leaks.

The fact that the devs keep releasing failed patch after failed patch should be your red flag. You need to wait till the end of the year before you even consider coming back.

Click on the news tab and see how many patches they've put out.

I took a leap of faith and repurchased the game, and it runs almost flawlessly now on 1.0.4.1.

Shaders were built in under 15 minutes.
The additional options showing me how much vram I should be set for was very helpful in knowing where to shave some ultra settings down to high.

I have an occasional frame flash wrong once every 30 minutes or so, but there's no noticeable stutter or lag and no crashes in 4 hours. If we'd started here on this version as the RTM, I'd be 100% satisfied with it.

Then I got an nvidia driver update and had to rebuild these dumb shaders again for another 15 minutes. I suppose that's tolerable.

Problem is you will get 20 hours into the game before you meet the stuttering mess the game is, and after that in different parts, its broken, refund and buy it on sale, stop ruining your experience with the game.

If it is as you say, does it mean the two weeks are tracked like the two hours? So if I refund after two days, I have another twelve days at second buy?
Unfortunately I refunded after almost two weeks because I wanted to give them time to fix it in the first place. Damn.
Or is it even worse and means that my two weeks are exceeded anyway because I bought it on release? (which was more than five weeks ago)

You can get it on Epic instead. They are refunding too, but it's a gamble with this sh! tty port.
I personally will not buy it at full price in any case, and not gonna buy it until port is ironed out for good.
