Assualt Rifle Upgrades?!
At the end of the game you get the Auto-Rifle. This gun can be used in New Game+. The question is whether or not it can (or should) be upgraded. Should it? The gun is powerful as it is, but you decide.

Yep, I aim at their feet! By the time I hit their head, they're dead lol.

No, no upgrades for the AR, sadly.

The recoil of the in-game version is ridiculous compared to the real thing. It's one of the major advantages of the AR platform, its low recoil. Unlike others like the FAL and G3, which kick like mules, making auto fire useless. Well, almost useless.

I guess the devs made it this way because the AR in game would be ridiculously OP if they made it "feel" like the real life version.

But they could balance that out with regulating the amount of ammo that's available for it.

Yes, they absolutely could, agree completely. They could have balanced it out in any number of ways, but they didn't. Instead, we have an AR that kicks like a 12 gauge firing slugs - LOL.

Really don't matter all that much to me, it's a game, it just stretches my suspension of disbelief a bit, so I just pretend it's an AR re-chambered for 7.62x51 and it's all good. SIG has something like that ;-)

I thought for sure there was going to be upgrades for this thing because the recoil is so crazy and needs reducing. Man that is disappointing.

Man, imagine if they sneaked in upgrades for it in New Game+. That would be awesome!

In multiplayer for console you can upgrade the AR15. So, that means the capability for the game to do so is locked away in it somewhere. Meaning, someone with the modding skillz should be able to make it so you can upgrade it for single player.

Since you can choose game modifiers like exploding arrows or unlimited ammo after your initial playthrough, not being able to upgrade the rifle is somehow pointless O.o
