WORKAROUND FOR XBOX CONTROLLER ISSUES

hey yall, i finally found something that works!

you can emulate a dual shock controller using this application:

How i got it to work:

1. Click the link above and download "ViGEmBus_1.18.367_x64_x86.exe" and run it. it'll walk you through a very simple install wizard

2. At the same link, download "DS4Emulator.2.0.1.Portable.zip" and extract the files but don't run the program yet

3. Connect your Xbox controller to your PC

4. Start the game from Steam

5. Alt tab back to the DS4 emulator folder and run the DS4Emulator.exe. A command prompt window should come up that says "Emulation with Xbox controller" at the top

6. Alt tab back to the game and the control sticks should work correctly

Hope this helps someone, kinda ridiculous it's necessary to spend 3-4 hours troubleshooting just to get aiming to work... but alas.

Thanks for this, but unfortunately as soon as i got this, and went to reload my game. I got a Infinite loading screen, even on a new game load. Pretty ridiculous.

This ruin my FPS, I have 60 stable, and when I turn on this emulator the FPS chop down to half and the camera microstutters

Mod Not needed. My XBox One controller works just fine and exactly as it should.

Thank you but what does ViGEmBus_1.18.367_x64_x86 do exactly? Does this exe will interact in any way in the future with the controller native compatibility?

The sticks don't work properly so you can't move Joel or turn the camera. If the stick is pushed perfectly up, down, left or right, it won't register an input. It doesn't affect everyone though.

i would say something messed up with their computers if an xbox controller isn't working natively. The game supports xbox controllers and dual shock controllers natively without any funny business. It says it supports switch controllers but i can only get a switch controller to work with steam input or ds4windows.
