Yes, if you attack at the incorrect time, a boss will dodge. They are programmed not to dodge during their recovery frames.
Cheap maybe, but those damn bastards just piss me off.
In fact, it's kinda of hilarious how lightweight mechs are frowned upon if the player uses them but they are the most obnoxious thing ever when you meet the ones controlled by the AI. I just completed B rank in the arena and Rusty was the toughest one i fought in the damn thing up to now.
