What's your favorite off meta weapons? For PvE or PvP.

For me, I have a fondness for several of the energy weapons. In particular the laser pistol and the double laser rifle.

Another one is the six pack shoulder missile launcher. It has a lot of ammo and I've found success with it used to supplement stagger and pressure against aerial opponents. It's not quite as good pound for pound as the ten pack missiles but it reloads much more quickly so it's more forgiving.

The two-lock dual missile launcher is very light and locks on very fast, pretty nice when I have only like 4000 weight to spare and both my shoulders are empty. You can couple it with the starter 4-lock missile to emulate old style dual+relation missiles.

Plasma missiles, machineguns, and pile bunker. The former because they're universally effective against everything, machineguns because they make great sidearms, and pile bunker because... well you probably already know.

I don't know if this counts, but I've really been enjoying the plasma thrower. I hated it at first, but once I tried it on a quad build it immediately became one of my favorite weapons. The same thing happened with a lot of charged weapons, honestly, to the point where I started using them on bipedal mechs.

Single Box fed machinegun, basic laser rifle. as said above the biiiiiig laser.

though today I actually saw other people using the box fed machinegun instead of chainguns in PvP, wow!

MGs are better against boss pulse shields than the damn pulse CANNON.

Pulse guns are only any good on the non-automatic AC pulse shield, and even then they will be overheated by barely being enough to bring one down. (But that is also why the back pulse cannon sees more use for giggles by me in PvP than my throwing it away in disgust every time I Try to use it on a boss)

That definitely counts, I pretty much never see that weapon used. I'd give it a shot but I'm allergic to quad legs.

PVE i found Duel flame throwers very helpful in certain instances like defending the mining ship New game 3. In some cases this just doesn't work that's the great thing about this game, trying new set ups and play styles.
