[SPOILERS] The duality of the true ending.
A lot of the games elements are subjective, there are altruistic goals, few can hardly be seen as "in everyone's best interest." In this case, the duality between Ayre and ALLMIND.

Ayre admits that her goal alongside Raven is instinct driven. ALLMIND on the other hand should be directive-driven. Ayre acts through empathy, while AM's actions are the result of growing an ego.

Either way, the goals they achieve through Raven result in the absolute control of civilization as we know it. Ayre may not have that consciously in-mind and didn't know that coral release would revive her people through machine integration, but then again, maybe she did and just hid it.

The story writers probably had this duality in mind when creating them, but it's something to be philosophized. Who do we know is gonna do "positive" things with the coral release? Life under AM would just suck, but it's Ayre that I think has us scratching our heads when we really think about her. Was she hiding a dagger all along and knows she can become no different than AM? Is it her particular plan to take the coral release and spread through the cosmos at the center of it? Would she come in the name of peace, or just say I'm the m'f-ing Coral Flow! and Borg everything? The very last line she speaks could be taken as she's taken control of an army, talking as if she's your handler. Sounds pretty ambitious and authoritative for a girl that just wanted her peoples' souls freed. But why would she do this? Deep-seeded revenge for her people. If there's civilizations out there capable of ruining things the way The Institute did for Ibis, then she won't allow it to happen as far ash she can reach.

We can only establish them as protagonist and antagonist. But just like the corporations, no one is holding-hands at the end of the day.

Also, I wonder if they named ALLMIND to be an easter-egg unabbreviation of AM. That's the sadistic world-controlling AI in the story "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream."

ALLMIND to me seems to be a female opposite of 9ball.

The goal of 9ball is absolute order with certainty thus he must destroy any freewill mercenaries that are outside of the system, the Raven being the titular example.

Meanwhile ALLMIND wants to evaluate humanity from the boundaries of the flesh to become virtual fighting intelligent lifeform* like Coral due to her desire of getting even more precious combat data.

All Mind's goal was to help Mercenaries be better, but she was an AI, so she took it literally. She is trying to fuse them with the Coral, to turn them into beings like Ayre. She is literally trying to make humanity evolve so they can be better mercenaries, as was her main programmed goal.

ego? maybe but AM's goal is to support Mercenaries make them better the best way is to turn them into Coral

Ayre empathy? sure tell 621 to get in a railgun to fly across the sea without any care of his safety after that tell 621 to kill Brute because she kinda annoyed by him then immediately ask 621 to kill Carla after learned about Overseer and then after turn everyone into Coral her first action is start combat mode

Ayre 's goal is the same as Coral nature gathered to hive mind and multiply

Being a bit too harsh on Ayre there, she is obviously sympathising with 621 but she isn't a dumb girl who would sell out her people.

The only thing Ayre did that was unreasonable is probably not having a straight talk with Carla, then again Carla probably knows too much about Coral to be convinced, she's one of the OG who was an adult scientist AND surviving the Fires of Ibis.

Not sure if that's even possible, considering she's in 621's head and no one else can hear her.

And even if 621 told Carla, would she really believe them? Or would she chalk it up to "you've got coral sickness and you're hallucinating".

Yeah the whole thing about Ayre being just in 621's head is just not true.

Aside from the fact she can hack, plan and pilot AC, ALLMIND and Iguazu directly communicate with her and even Walter knows her presence.

Carla, of all people, is probably the person who is most knowledgeable about Coral.
