What emulators to use to play 4/for answer and 5/verdict day?

Title says it all, I wanna play these games so bad but one, my ps3 is in the shadow realm for a long time now and two, I honestly never want to touch a console again after experiencing the ps5. So emulation it is.

Xenia for 4 and FA. Both run like ass on RPCS3.

There is a color pattern glitch on FA on Xenia (though this can be fixed if you don't care about framerate), but that's it. Both run smooth as butter.

They actually run decently? PS3/360 Emulators are still pretty new emulators for the most part in terms of function.

I had a way easier time getting the X360 version to run over the PS3 version. There's a lot more quirks to PS3 emulation than the X360 of Armored Core 4 Answer.

Armored Core 5 just kinda crashes most of the time as far as I've been messing with it.

A warning for using Xenia you want to try to find a specific version of it for ACV and ACVD to minimize crashing. They will still crash but at least if you can get the right version you can at least finish the games. The version of Xenia I used was Xenia Canary and it was a Dec 15th 2022 build.

RPCS3 is ideal for 4 and 4A. It currently runs the games better than Xenia, and no longer has the color cache issue that Xenia still has. It also has LAN capabilities on RPCS3, and hopefully soon it will have full online support.

I hear Xenia is better for 5 and VD, though I never bothered emulating them.

There's a small issue with FA specifically in xenia that messes up custom color schemes on your AC. It can be corrected in the settings, but the setting in question will likely mess up your framerate.

Though the two games running fine on RPCS3 is news to me. Tried them a few months ago and they were the total opposite. Framerate issues, random screen glitches, and frequent crashing, mainly on AC4.

Ok lets say I use xenia for FA and I tweaked it so the glitched textures don't happen, how low will the FPS be? Me personally, I could work with a good old 40 for the least.

It was months ago so I don't remember clearly, but the game was playable. I'd hazard a guess at between 30-50 depending on your rig.

hmmm thats workable. From what I am seeing, the common consensus now is that RPCS3 for the 4th gen games and xenia for 5th gen. I'll install and test them out some time later but hey, thanks all !
