Should we bring the repair kits to Arena fight and PvP?
Just throwing the idea out.

Currently the arena fight is basically a shadow of the actual AC fights in the campaign due to ther ACs being able to heal, I think having the repair kits would at least bring them closer to campaign version.

I think having no healing in Arena actually leads to some interesting alternatives to your builds, and allows for heavier enemies to be a bit more threatening than lighter ones since they will have, comparatively, more staying power than before. A heavy build with 18000 HP has literally double the HP of a light build with 9000 HP, but fully upgraded repair kits are effectively +18000 HP to your machine no matter what, which means that heavy build is now only 36000 HP vs. a light build with 27000 HP, which is ultimately a pretty big difference.

Adding repair kits would simply make the current pvp meta even more set with the need to either stagger lock or one shot since trying to chip or anything becomes worthless with people getting more chances to fish for their 100-0's.

In spite of all the memes about instant kills in PvP, even most average players can last a good chunk of time unless they are getting teamed up on.

So even as a guy who rolls his eyes at people screaming about healing in souls games, I think mostly it would only add padding and ALSO frustrating every time you are locked out of healing by certain types of attack actions or flinches from damage.

Remember, you can't heal if certain things are interrupting you. So you could only heal if you were, essentially, running away successfully from a fight. Or, you won and want an extra cookie for getting a kill.

Healing in PvP itself isn't a bad concept, but in the context of armored core it would just make the flow awkward. So my being against it isn't some tired "Whaa whaa healing is casual but also I will cry about shotguns hurting me more" take. Even my far too fat stubborn machine builds would benefit from healing.

Which reminds me, a build with heavy defenses would honestly benefit from healing kits more than my balsa wood boy builds. At least assault armor is so weak I can get into explosion trades with my light against a heavy, or a light can do it against my heavy.

There is no place for repair kits in 1v1, since it is round based and you already get a free repair between rounds.

Repairs in team deathmatch would only lead to an even worse "win more" than the spawns already do (as soon as someone dies, their team is likely to end up in a permanent 2v3).

The idea should be thrown out the window. Recovery only has a place in games where attrition isn't a victory condition, i.e: objective based game modes.

might be nice to have in team games, or have them allowed to be enabled/disabled as an option in the lobby

Having it as an option would be nice.

What's the difference between tripling HP for all mechs vs. bringing up repair kits aside from the fact repair kits don't heal as much I guess and you can't put it on when you are staggered.

It would still lead to oneshots when you cant use the repair kit in time, its inconsistent.

Oneshots in general are stupid. If you wanna oneshot something play CoD where 3 bullets kill an enemy.

I see what you mean now, you want more HP to tank stunlock.
I just think it's not gonna work, but we will see.

Repair kits in armored core are a mistake. If you add up the armor value of the three kits to your base, you get rough equivalents to normal AC armor values from the last two gens. That's how it should be - repair kits are only added to artificially reduce your ability to take repeated hits - to allow bosses to oneshot you, and you to basically oneshot certain AC bosses.

Would rather them double mech AP, by percentage, compared to its current value. Like the first comment of this thread stated, repair kits remove meaning to some of the heavier parts. It would be better if there were just a mode that scales up all health by x2 or x3 based on the parts used. Heavy parts would still retain their AP advantages this way.
