I'd say its Walter who is the Char clone. Guy's an ace who flies a red tinted mech and has a mysterious agenda. Iguazu is closer to Jerid Maasa, being a professional loser.

Rusty is absolutely the Char Clone, he's working towards his own goal despite initially looking like he's part of Arquebus, he's known for his speed, gets an end of series upgrade, and depending on the ending he ends up as your rival

I agree. Thought I'd argue that he's always been something of a rival, the ending just changes how friendly/unfriendly it gets.

Carla probably. She's the only character that is both competent (which disqualifies G5 immediately) and cunning (which disqualifies rusty, much as I like the guy).

G1 is a straightforward leader type, and V.II is just a ♥♥♥♥ who looks down on everyone. Walter is your ally which kind of disqualifies him, and Ayre is... well about as innocent and straightforward as one can get on Rubicon.

You, 621, is the Char clone. Rusty is obviously goody two shoes protagonist, while Iguazu is flat psychotic bad guy, and only 621 is morally ambiguous wild card pursuing goals only he knows inside his head. Like even ayre can't get a read on your actions at some points.
