Is there any benefits from killing enemy unit?
I watch ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON trailer and immediately fall in love with this so I decide to watch the first game. Half way through the video i notice that if the mission isn't about kill all enemy then you can just skip them, that to me feel kinda boring. So in the later sequels is there any benefits for killing enemy?

Skipping them is more of a speed run thing for veterans who understand the game and what's coming up. It's like saying you don't need to kill enemies in ANY game because none of them physically stop you.

Of course you don't. The record speed run for Elden Ring is like 4 minutes. Can YOU beat the game in 4 minutes?

That said, it depends on the mission. In previous games, it was sometimes very hard to avoid enemies, but if you could, it was usually a good idea. Many missions specifically task you with killing targets though, and some rewarded you for each kill like a bounty system.

However, the fantasy here is that you're a mercenary trying to balance the books. Repairs and ammo cost money, though who knows if that will still be true here. So if you don't need to engage targets, generally speaking, the smart thing to do is avoid them if you can manage it.

Like I said though, it's really only feasible for someone who understands the game so they can build correctly for each mission and knows exactly what each threat is in the level and where it is.

You can also go through Elden Ring, or most souls games, or heck, most games for that matter without killing most things in your way if you really want to. And if you find that fun, you do you.

The enemies are obstacles, and if its fun to remove obstacles, then remove them.

IMO. In old AC games, enemies are placed in narrow paths of tunnels underground and they can be a somewhat complex map so killing them really means reducing the chances of getting killed. In AC4+ / For Answer, some enemies may probably be skipped but the weapons deal a lot of damage. With the speed of the ACs going to be like between Gen 3 and ACV+ but can also reach AC4+, I don't think it would be easy to dodge everything.

Yeah I know you can skip enemy in Soul games but this game is a level base game and for me personally a level base game that you can just jump from A to B to complete the level is kinda boring.

See here for example, this dude blitzes a mission in one of the more recent entries of the series, basically ignoring all enemies but what the mission requires him to destroy. I'm not a huge fan of this either, but there is a fast-paced element to Armored Core, at least there very obviously was in AC4 and For Answer, even more so when fighting other NEXTs. So that kind of rushing behaviour is to be expected. And as others have said, at least when you're using conventional ballistics weaponry, that's always been deducting money from your mission rewards, so it might actually be wise to not waste ammo on every small enemy. But if I remember right repairing your mech cost you too, and I think other factors playing into your mission score were also speed and such. I never really knew the details of it, I just didn't care that particulary much, but part of the appeal of the game has always been to find the right balance between these factors, to replay missions over and over again to find the "right" way to do them without getting hurt too much or wasting too much ammo or spending an eternity in them.

because "balancing" what to kill and when to kill is necessary
you have to be very pragmatic about things in the old games you want to avoid unnecessary wasted ammo and persevere in anycase mission update calls for it

at the end of the day you still need to pay for ammo and repairs if you run into a deficit which is not technically possible in AC6 hell its also nearly impossible in 5th gen then just redo some easier missions with cheaper gear (laser blade only) just to put your wallet back in the black.

remember since Last Raven or AC3 you no longer get "punished" for failing the mission once

think of it this way in souls would it be worth it to waste an estus flask or get to the next bonfire as much as possible?

at the end of the day the ranking system is similar to Ace Combat its determined by how much income is spared to you at the end of it, considering they are going to remodify the mission and subquest system of 5th gen as the base probably VD being its closest counterpart

if you are not skilled, then the enemies you ignore will destroy you or heavily lower your health. watching a speed runner does not show how the game normally plays out for most people.

In previous AC games you would unlock new AC parts and weapons by progressing through the campaign, defeating enemy ACs (during campaign missions or arena encounters) and (in the older entries) you could even find secret parts, hidden around the maps of some missions, or even in the testing ground (AC2 had a hidden part in the testing ground).

I feel all these things may come back with AC 6, but I also feel that if FromSoft has taken a page from Dark Souls and/or Elden Ring, then by killing enemy units you might be able to loot their equipment.

Then don't play the game, man. You're wrong, since many missions literally force you to kill enemies. You're far more likely to be able to skip enemies in Elden Ring than Armored Core 6, but whatever, it seems like you made your mind up so go play whatever magical game you think will sate your desires.

I definitely will try out the game! Hope AC6 will be less fast pace than For Awnser.

Good luck with that. Though to be fair I'm honestly having a difficult time imagine how its possible to be faster paced that FA was, christ...

Am I the only one that remembers bonus credit rewards for killing enemies in the older titles? It was absolutely a staple. Sure you might still lose out depending on your ammo and repair costs, but you might lose more letting them take potshots at you anyways. And the really expensive ammo is meant to be used on difficult targets, not cannon fodder. Don't use a grenade launcher or missiles to deal with turrets or MTs, use rockets or rifles or energy weapons.

yes you are paid depending on what you kill but it varies from mission to mission if the contract says they will be paying for stuff you kill yeah you do get money but some of the contracts you don't you just get reward money in
ACV its the former case but then most missions in ACV is going from point A to point B killing everything in VD its much more objective oriented

Because they provide no benefit. If you've even LOOKED at AC you'd know that spent ammo is money wasted. Getting into unnecessary fights is AC repairs.

Granted once you get off solid weapons, that cost of ammo sort dies out (sorta). THere are some missions where the goal isn't full hostile pacification, but secure an objective or do something else

Depends on the mission.

Generally speaking though, you're gonna want to avoid wasting ammo if you can help it.
