The IBIS and how to avoid two specific attacks of its
The IBIS sucks and I hate it.
Anyways, that's not important right now. It has this cross-beam sword attack and a big coral beam that explodes; how do you avoid those?

I know that with the regular sword beam combos you just QB in the opposite direction after each beam is fired to counter its tracking system, but I could swear that there's literally no way to actively avoid its cross-beam attack. The worst part is that I don't even know why; is the beam too big to QB out of? Is the tracking just different? I don't know. I say "actively" because I did manage to avoid it once--and I'm not sure how; maybe I was just really far away.

As for the coralhameha, dodging the beam is easy enough but, again, I could swear that there's no way to avoid the resulting AoE.

So, any tips? If any of you say "git gud" and nothing else then I thank you for your assistance; I will do my best and pray for a horse to kick your nads open.

I'm more so asking for the proper movement technique to avoid these attacks, but if anyone has any build recommendations, then I appreciate those too; I just want to S-rank this mission and get it over with at this point. For reference, here's my current build:

Switch directions and time it right. For example, if you're strafing right, quick boost left. Works with even complete snail builds as long as you time it right.

The cross sword attack has better tracking then the other sword attacks, but it is far from impossible to dodge -- you just have to quick boost slightly later. The AoE from the explosion attack can be dodged if you time your quick boost perfectly, but it is easier if you just gain some altitude and dodge at a distance so the AoE can't hit you anyway.

if you're a heavy ♥♥♥♥ like my mech was due to high energy building and high carry capacity, you will want to be stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ aggressive to avoid ibis geting a chance to even use those moves. dodging them is a little more difficult, not impossible. easiest way i found is not A or D, but to w or S quickly out of the blast radius. timed just right it will either go right past you or stop in front of you.

That coral kamehameha attack has some busted hitboxes I will say. Seen slowmo cam of my AC getting killed by it, when its visual clearly and very distinctly missed the AC, all of the AC.

Maybe try boosting underneath or above it? That usually messes up enemy tracking in most situations.

It depends entirely on the angle of the beam because what you're getting hit by is not the beam itself, but the explosion. The wider the angle between IBIS and the point the beam hits the ground the harder it will be to dodge because it will detonate closer to you when it misses.

IBIS shooting it from ground level would be the easiest to dodge. IBIS shooting it from right above would be the hardest.

Quick boosting it perfectly or jumping are the only real options. It's one of the harder moves to avoid if you play on the ground.

i forgot to mention jumping. half the time my best bet was to jump out of the blast radius and move backwards.

if youre a light mech reverse joints are great for the cross attack

as for the lazer bomb, just being a fast mech and good timing of QB

switch bipedal for reverse joints, when you see ibis go really high in air, big beam is probably coming, jump, and get ready to dodge midair when you hear the warning bleeps. You only have the beam to dodge in that case, which has a much smaller hitbox than the contact AOE.
You need to swap direction midway through the three moonlight slashes, the third will absolutely track where ibis predicts where you will be, so you need to throw her off.
concerning cross-slash, you need to wait until it's out to QB away, cause she will track if you quickboost too early.
bipedal makes all of this harder. ><
Most of her other attacks are trivialized by just boost strafing around her with a decently fast mech.

and assuming you arent doing a replay and trying to get s ranks there is always needles and majestics on tank treds for being lazy

I've only reliably managed to deal with this by using the pulse bucklers :\

For the X-Beam, move in one direction and then immediately quick-boost in the opposite as soon as Ibis stops swinging. The 2-1 slash is pretty fixed but the X Slash does have better tracking, likely due to it reading which way you're boosting if you do so too early. As for the beam shot, like earlier stated, it has a splash effect. Get in the air and dodge out as it comes to hopefully clear it.

Like other's have posted. The X Beam track the player movement. If you move away from Ibis you can see the X Beam going after your old position. Still takes some good reaction time though.

In my few tries i was never able to dodge beam attack, sword attak however .. sometimes just missed by itself.
Anyway - wheelchair is fast enough to dodge most of attacks.
Also - if you kill it fast enough than it won't even use beam attacks.
