Similar (easier) Mech Games?

I was rather excited to play this, but after trying it at a friends place for a few hours, I must say it's just too difficult for me. the tutorial helicopter almost filtered me out, I struggled a LOT against he-who-shall-not-be-named and I just barely defeated the sea spider, mostly due to sheer dumb luck and stubborness. But instead victorious I just felt relieved to finally be done with it.

to get to the point.... can someone recommend a game similiar to AC6, but less brutally kicking me in the private parts for fun for hours at end?

Daemon X Machina is very similar but with a lot of the negatives that you can expect from an 'anime' game.

Certain bosses will feel like sandbags, the non-mech sections feel like an afterthought that shouldn't have been in the game, the story is terrible and character interactions are filled with moans and Japanese antics that don't amount to anything.

The mech aspect is fun though.

Yeah this game is so much "skip" "skip" "skip" cool mech design, craft new weapons etc, "skip" "skip"

I don't know what it is, but all the weird chat dialog is just so awkward

I should make a correction here, not on steam anymore. They couldn't handle steam and left for their own platform and have stagnated for years.

I own the game on steam. I was a kickstarter early backer.

I give that game a hard pass due to developer incompetency.

Yeah you are right. A shame about the whole situation, last time I checked youtube, nobody was uploading new videos for almost an year, the game is basically INVISIBLE. Also when they left steam, it kinda became irrelevant for my friends because regional pricing was only possible here. Less money is still better than no money at all, but dev doesnt understand that. Idk what happened between him and steam, but i know other solo indie developers who are more successful, so things can be different.

p.s.
If you have it on steam and/or being a backer, you can write developer to get access to non-steam version of course (I think you know it and did it, I just have to mention it just in case). Anyway, when I check out their "updates" channel in discord, I think last big update was around 2021 maybe, though they are working on next one. Still, feels like "eternal early access".

Seems like the similar situation that Strike Vector had. Good game with the added dramatic irony of the studio naming themselves "Ragequit."

If you're willing to do an emulator (recommend Xenia, its already fully developed), armored Core 4 and armored core FA are both very similar to this game. They are faster in many respects, but I wouldn't say the game is more difficult in spite of that.

Quite the opposite, you're much more durable in those games and there is less aimbot level tracking from most enemies.

Also the most difficult fights in the game are nothing compared to Balteus, with the possible exception White Glint on hard mode.

really.... that is quite a surprise for me, I thought if I already struggle this much at the end of chapter 2 it would get much worse by chapters 4 and 5. But the game does seem to have a strange difficulty curve. Or rather a relatively flat line interrupted by huge spikes.

it id because you have limited weapons what i found out is that armored core 6 is relatively easy if you forget all the useless weapons which are almost alll and favor high impact/stun weapons, things like the linear rifle basookas, sting needle and above all gattling gun make the game turn to easy mode

Yea If you own a PS4(or PS5) at all pick up Gundam Breaker 3 Break Edition. You'll only be able to get it online though since it was an import.

If you own a PS3 you can pick up Gundam Breaker 1 and 2 from ebay for cheap, but they are in Japanese. You can still fail through it and have fun without knowing Japanese. I think these are also emulatable on RPCS3. Tho I don't know where to find the ROMS.

If you just play on PC MASS Builder is mecha game where you customize you own mecha and fight alien invaders. You can find it on the steam store.

daemon x machina is the zany power fantasy version of this game. your mecha in that game is ultra powerful, and will slaughter things endlessly for you.

its ok to step away from AC. you did it with class, and ergo, did not get filtered.

only the ragers/sscreechers/angy ree ree's get the filter. you remain with your honor intact. beaten but unbroken.

It's one cool western mech game, it's actually inspired by Guyver and Evangelion.
