What the ♥♥♥♥ is up with "escort the mining vessel"

Seriously. I thought ibis was but but this is utterly ridiculous. Beyond absurd levels of difficulty. Even with the cheese strat it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ impossible. I don't understand who thought this was a good idea. It's not even a skill check like ibis is or a dps check like balteus. It's just absurd.

The only difficulty in it is the fake difficulty injected into the controls. When I go to quick boost I want to quick boost now, not after the game decides to listen to inputs when I'm not attacking or doing anything but moving. Ctrl means boost, so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do it. Another pet peeve is not being able to stop that boost if you are holding a directional key. I got used to it, but man is that dumb. There's also been several times I have a full lock on, enemy is still and my grenades miss at the cusp of close/mid range or even better, they hit dead-on, but do no damage.

What's the point of using an fcs if a lock-on is a guaranteed miss on a fast moving target? In the old games if you had a lock they could still dodge, but they had to actually dodge because your fcs would adjust for their trajectory. This fcs is only useful against targets that don't move, who needs it then? Maybe I should just switch to manual mode for these guys, not like I can possibly miss more.

They don't get stuck in the corner of the map because they just never ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ go there. I know the mission is beatable but how the ♥♥♥♥ are you meant to do it?!

The ez cheese strat is once the wheels spawn fly to a corner of the play area. I know you said they don't but they most definetly will if you stay in the corner and fly above them They cannot go outside the play area once in it so you lock down 2 of the 4 possible direction they can go and often get caught in the corner long enough to do serious damage. If its unclear I can whip up a video for you.

Did my S-rank with dual flamethrowers and dual large grenade cannons.

The trick is to manual aim the grenade cannons as the wheels are approaching initially. You can take out multiple at once with a single shot this way, by far the easiest way to deal with them.

With the flamethrower bait the other enemies close to you while you hide in the crater, then when they approach rush them, kick them with your AC, and flame them. Stick to them like glue and flame them till dead. Works on wheels too, but requires some persistence.

Easy, use flamethrowers and almost never leave the crater. Ride around the ridge which is the only hard cover in the whole area. Only go over it to attack MTs as they sometimes keep their distance and wont enter the crater. Wait for the wheels to enter and hammer them with the flame throwers. Using the back stun needles is very effective as well but you can use whatever you want. Song birds for example.

The wheels are extremely weak to Explosives. This mission is easily my most farmed mission to get COAM. It's an easy 400k for like 2 minute of work.

Wheels are weak to any explosive damage by the way. Missiles (not plasma) can do the job in theory, but the problem being missile tracking.

Songbird, Zimmerman, melee by your choice, check for flamethrower turning wheel, shot songbird at it, then Zimmerman, then finish by melee.

you do know the cheatcode for all the game regardless of mission are, gattling, songbird, stun needle and flamethrowers, add that to a wheelchair tank and you would be able to pass any mission regardless of

had issues with that one too the first time around tho i was mainly surprised at the sheer number of hellspawn wheels coming at me. missile swarm makes quick work of them. usually i'd feel bad for cheesing and come back later and do it fair but those damn wheels are too annoying to deserve the honor.

Songbirds still topple wheels head on. Finish however you like. The MTs you have to play long range/guerrilla tactics.

A direct hit with a Songbird will usually take out a wheel if both rounds connect. Beyond that, it's either a game of high speed to keep up with the MTs or working long range. The missile correction FCS goes a long way if you want to try to bomber it.

Lure all the wheels into a corner and blast with Earshot and Cooks. It rolls the mission.
