I've been unable to get any of my controllers to work as well - Switch Pro, PS4, and PS5. I have two of each and none worked. I've tried:
-removing the .vdf files from the common folder
-enabling steam input for each controller
-opening the game in big picture
I tried another game with my controllers, and things seem to work just fine. Fortunately the M&K controls feel pretty good so far, since that's what I have no choice to play with for the moment.
VDF files have no impact so far
Tested with both Switch and Xbox controller with no impact
Steam input no changes.
I have verified that no other settings are impacting controller input and have tested them in other games without problem. Seems that this is exclusively atm a AC6 problem with detecting controllers. Will attempt a reintall at this point in time.
Xbox Controller worked completely fine out of the box but the game felt very sluggish with huge deadzones where you have to push the analog like 30-40% to even register the input. Fiddled with deadzone settings in steam to no avail, disabled steam input completely in hopes that it was the culprit, and now I can’t get my controller working at all, even after reenabling everything lol.
Tested with 360 and Series controllers, with and without Steam Input enabled. Doubt it's a problem on my end, so I'll just stick with kb+m until they fix it.
