Hey Sword Masters,

I talked with Jack, the solo developer of GIGASWORD, on what they had been developing for the game!

Hey Giga-fans! I've been working on some new areas for GIGASWORD, and that means new background art! I've really been pushing myself with these newest assets, as I really want them to stand out in the player's memory while they're exploring the Nestrium. Some of these areas, such as the fiery Volmire, will serve as integral parts of Ezra's adventure, while others, like the blue-skied Astral Realm, will be entirely optional and thus much harder to find. Think you have what it takes to uncover all of the Nestrium's secrets?

GREAT demo, really looking forward to the release! Was getting a lot of comfy 16bit-era vibes, and the "simple gameplay, intriguing world" setup is working even without seeing any of the intro stuff or dialogue. I'll bullet out my design thoughts below, but these are just little things that occurred to me while playing; your main takeaway should be that this is super solid, making nitpicks stick out against the generally excellent baseline: Right stick camera manipulation feels a LITTLE bit squ...

Hey sword masters,

My name is Joseph and I am the community manager for Akupara Games. I’m super excited to announce that Akupara Games has partnered up with Studio Hybrid to publish Gigasword!

Gigasword is an adventure metroidvania where you must balance the weight of the Gigasword on your adventure. The Gigasword is not only great for slashing your enemies but also allows you to unlock doors and push down pressure plates. However with the weight of carrying such a huge sword does come with the downside of your movement being impacted. Will you be able to conquer the rooms that lay ahead of you?

Bug in demo

I died (due to carelessness in combat), but upon retrying, a room in the environment was shown on screen, with no character to be seen. I could still move and attack (the screen would shake when I did so), but the 'camera' completely lost me and I could not progress :(...

Demo bug and feedback

After dying on my first attempt to beat the Sloan boss, I opted to retry and the boss screen loaded and I could see the treasure chest with my dropped ore. The boss walked toward the left edge of the screen to attack me even though my character was off-screen and uncontrollable. The fight was stuck in a stalemate with neither Sloan nor I able to attack the other. I had to reload the game from the save point to proceed. After I beat the boss, I reached the end of the demo, but my game save was automatic...

Camera jerking

I noticed the camera will teleport or jerk around if you jump after climbing a ladder, assuming the camera can move higher from that point. I noticed it in vertical rooms.
