What weapon do you guys use?

Seems staff is for tanking(wei huo hp regen + dmg reduce good),saber is big damage
What about sword or fist? Or hidden weapon?

Sword since I just started. I might switch to another weapon on my second runthrough. Kind of wish that we're not locked to Wudang. The other sects are interesting, like Xuanhuo Cult. With Yuwen Yi's somewhat of a blank slate personality leaning towards the side of good, it could work for him being able to choose which sects he joins. It would add more replayability that way too.

Using Fist or Staff while focusing Conceptions full tree except skipping (most) capstones till later, Yin 2ndary stats & Taixi unlock (eventually Shencang too), and Yang to get to Qiuxu (That is to say I have the points to do all that stuff hehe).

Fist Primary dps/single target tankage and Staff Secondary for aoe tanking and aoe dps. I love to farm, so I'm still pouring Martial Points into all other forms especially since the text says you'll take less damage with more Mastery. But those two fighting styles are the styles I've actually learned myself in Martial Arts, so they just resonate of course.

P.S. I am loving swapping from turn-based & real-time fighting depending on the fight...just wanted to throw that out there too, this game rocks lol, cheers!

Have you confirmed if the weapon mastery actually reduces damage? Mods confirmed but I haven't been able to see actual changes.

That said, I did beat a fight I should've had no chance at beating by simply using real-time to move out of the way of incoming attacks and slowly chip down the opponent. That was pretty fun.

Hmm yeah I did just test it on the the Swordsman who wanders the World Map. His Mastery is 156 and I tested with my normal 53 Swords Mastery VS. 106 boosted from a crafted weapon. Both fights I received similar if not the same amount of damage #s, so it may not be implemented? Hopefully its just bugged and will be fixed OR I just don't have enough mastery to see any differences.

Pretty sure sword is the best and easiest to get started with. The moves you can learn from the people at the manor and a companion are pretty good. Also the sword move from the monkey.

Saber is just flat out the best weapon. You reach a point 1/3rd of the way through where MC can solo any encounter.

I use Saber it can hit more multiple enemy more than sword
but if you like multiple hit unique skill choose sword Unique skill name Celestial Fairy swordplay is really OP should try this skill
Fist is most powerful like 1 hit almost kill but not have much skill to use
hidden weapon is fun but for me i only have 1 unique skill so choose other wepon
Polearm is balance between def and ATK but i feel it do low atk but high def so not interest for me

ah saber win in damage but on buffing self evasion sword is better,staff for tanking(heal self every hit),Fist for Debuffing and multi hit(really good in 1v1 since i usually got 2 to 3 move vs other weapon also the shaolin is OP with it did 4k dmg with arhat fist the normal atk one)

i changed from sword to fist due to dueling

A merchant who used fists hit me 6 times in a row with his combo that made me realise i should go fist too...

The lady in red with sabers is really good for group clearing maps too
