Save Vanishing
Was playing and had gone halfway through area 2. I died and when I went to load my save it said "an error has occurred" as the save vanished. Please tell me if there is any way of recovering it.

Sounds like something happened that cause your save to get corrupted. don't think you can recover that sadly.

the game provide 20 multiple slot to use, did you just use only 1?

I only used one slot as, unless I was at an important split which doesnt happen until much further into the game (outside of taking the girls hand in the opening), it didn't seem like it would be helpful and instead just clog extra save slots. In hindsight it would've been smart to save over multiple slots to prevent the issue from happening again, but how was I supposed to expect my save to just vanish.

I actually was digging through my files earlier and found the saves location, verified by quickly making a new save to a different save slot (i used 7 for it) and a new save file was added to the location. Looking at the .sav for the test save on 7 and my main save on 1 in notepad, 1 was completely blank while 7 was filled with characters that I have to assume will correlate to the data it loads.

I'm not saying this is your fault (it really isn't, corrup saves are bs) BUT if an rpg provides you with so many save slots, there is NO reason to not use some of them. I have 3 saves right now and I didn't even think about it because this is rpg-gaming 101.

its better to manual backup your save every afternoon or night before your sleep. upload it to google drive or external disk . relying only on steam cloud would lead you overwrite your normal save with broken one

I gotta say, this is fkd up... I still have the trauma of a faulty power brick and of a PS1 and Digimon world 2003, one day I was saving, and the PS1 turned off during saving... after that day I always use multiple save slots if I can. Steam Save cloud might save you?
