Game looks great... Except for the cutscenes...
So I'm running the game in 4k and in most scenarios it looks high fidelity. I just can't get over the fact they completely neglected the pre-rendered cutscenes resolution. They look so crunchy compared to the gameplay.

That sucks. Let's hope someone upscales them at least and upload to the nexus or something like that. That usually helps alleviate the issue somewhat.

TBH, I'm doubtful an upscale would be viable at this point. The cutscenes seem to be the same ones from the Switch version (which i believe are 720p). With the cutscenes beings pre-rendered at already such a low resolution, upscaling may make it look worse with the already crappy AA in combination with the DoF. I also looked around on gamebanana to see what mods were available for the previous version on the game and it's looking more like they are more focused on re-balancing and general texture replacement mods.

But we can always hope for the best.

Yeah, let's hope. It seems like a pretty crappy oversight to not provide at least 1080p versions of the cutscenes in a PC/PS5/Xbox port, depending on how many pre-rendered cutscenes there are.

I'm also baffled by this.
Let's be frank: It doesn't ruin the game but it comes of as pretty stingy and unprofessional. The last time I have seen cutscenes that felt this out of place were the God of War 1&2 cutscenes on the PS3 GW1+2 collection.

Also my only complaint about the game, the pre rendered cutscenes looks like they would have rendered great in the in game engine

Same, the fact this kind of quality is even considered for the PS5 version is insane too.

Yeah it looks pretty cheap. I run the game at around 8k to get rid of absolutely all blatant aliasing and then the cutscene comes in and I'm looking at direct capture switch footage lmao

Playing on my 4k TV I didn't even notice. My TV upscales really well but no way are they 720p

That's good to hear! Thank you for testing it out and giving confirmation on the mod's functionality.

don't forget about delayed audio in cutscenes if you are recording in OBS without matching your game to recording resolution

Gamebanana is usually the better choice for Atlus games at least
