Hayataro in Vegenance route?

Played the original on the switch, but bought it on Steam cause it's just such a massive upgrade from the crappy hardware on that thing. So basically I'm starting anew and with the Vengeance route first. Without spoiling much of the endings, am I able to unlock Hayataro in either of the Vengeance endings, or do I have to sit through the lackluster og story again to get him?

Simply do the story. Youll unlock him eventually.
You do get him in the vengeance route but not from one of the endings.

Do I need to be aligned to either side to unlock him, since I heard Vengeance uses the alignment system from older games, or will I unlock him naturally regardless of alignment?
