It's a difficulty spike but I don't see how it's badly designed. It was actually the first boss in a while that got me planning a full team rebuild for that boss alone, which is a sign of a well designed boss IMO.
In my case I used Omagatoki Strategize, had a Dominion in the team for light crits, and passed turn to Nahobino for 8 consecutive Mahamaons. Didn't quite get the main boss in one turn but got the others, which stopped the Magatsuhi skill from going off and easily secured the rest of the fight.
Now if we wanna talk badly designed, let's talk about that "win in gameplay, lose in cutscene" nonsense.

On the contrary, I thought this was a very well designed fight and it felt very satisfying to figure out on my own, no other fight in this or the previous game soo far (haven't finished the game yet) aside maybe Demi-fiend have come close to needing as much planning I'm curious what other ways people got through it, but you have options whether you're a physical/magic build.

Tetrakarn from Onyankopon is insanely good in this fight (or attack mirrors) as it makes full use of the press-turn system (removing all press-turns upon reflect instead of just 2 from nulling), preventing Lillith from reviving Margat as much(they never got to use their magatsuhi skill outside of the first turn) as Eiseth always went second and just kept attacking into it while also reducing the amount of debuffs you get throughout the fight from Naamah as she rarely got her turn due to the reflect... I used a support build to build up the magatsuhi meter which I'd use to EX Friekugal with red rider against lillith with a little bit of Hamaon damage while I kept attack buffs on him.

Now Mem Alph in Strange Journey I think is probably one of the most bs fights in the series that isn't a superboss (I didn't play Redux, but in the OG game there is a lot of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in that fight).

Very good fight. First try i Was like: "wtf, there is no way i can beat them!".
Well, after 2 other trys i use my brain for 5 seconds and well, after that the fight wasnt that hard.

Easy way for me: kill the one who is weak against physical damage first. It is possible in the first round when you have good physical dudes.
