Confused about an icon

[Emerald Lance]

Above Mermaid's name, next to her demon type "Femme" is a blue icon. Some of my other demons have this too, but I'm not able to find any information about it. What does this icon mean?

If I'm not mistaken, this icon indicates if you possess the essence of the demon.

This seems to be the case. I never would've figured this out myself, and it definitely would've driven me crazy! Thanks a bunch!

sidenote but in your own screenshot if you look at the bottom there's a keybind for "icon help" which covers just about every icon in existence depending on which menu you're in if you encounter another icon question in the future

Looks like the symbol indicates you can buy the essence in question.
