Community thoughts on the Mitama DLCs
Just curious how people, especially those who have beaten the game without them feel about them being enabled by default. Does it break anything or make the game too easy? I'm no glutton for punishment but I tend to be wary of DLCs that feel pay to win. If the game's actual balance is effected by it I'd like to know.

If you engage with them regularly, they will trivialize the difficulty. They can very quickly over level you and your demons, as well as give you way more money than you could get normally. I don't use them in this way, though I also don't care if others want to; it's their single player experience, so people should do what they enjoy.

Personally, I have them all set to regular spawn rates, and I only use them to keep my Mermaid's level up with mine (since demons level up slower than the MC, and because Mermaid is bae and I want her always in my party). I bought the deluxe edition for the DLC, and in doing so I got the mitamas for free, so I wouldn't exactly say I'm "paying to win" here. Besides, I enjoy options, so the more options I have, the more fun I have.

I generally don't engage mitamas unless I'm trying to level Mermaid, or in the very rare case that I happen to be under leveled and need to catch up to the area I'm in. However, if a mitama finds its way into my fight (either from tagging along with another demon or from jumping me during Amanozako's treasure antics), then I will try to kill it.

I don't really care either way. I do like them during the endgame when I am trying to fuse like crazy to build up Jack Frost and Pyro Jack for fun and endgame since that requires a lot of investment.

Early game I don't really waste my time with them. Most problems can be solved by utilizing a new tactic.

just change the mitama encounter rate to regular; progress through the game while doing sidequest which is how you get to lvl up efficiently. Theres literally no reason to use the dlc stuff on your first run (the items are only good till you reach lvl 10 ish anyways)

Pay to win is a word from online games. But this is single player, it's supposed to make the game easier or see the ending faster, not give you an unfair advantage over other players.

I have the DLC because i got the Deluxe edition, but i switched it off since i want to take my time with the game. For endgame builds / Shiva / Demifiend it will come in handy if you don't want go through days of mindless, lifetime wasting grinding for exp/macca but still.

A lot. Theyre everywhere, on some place even outnumber normal demon encounters. Luckily you can turn the spawn rate down at any time in ingame menu.
