Pay to cheat BS
I am so sick of these games that have pay to win DLC. I was looking forward to playing this for months. Can't take it anymore. There are too many good games out there that have pay to cheat. I am so sad by this, honestly. Like...these devs these days make games and deliberately make in game currency difficult to get or extra grindy and then pitch "Oh, if you spend $3 you can get in game money easier!" I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Do not buy this.

wow just imagine being mad at an optional dlc, a dlc for a single player game. A dlc that you can turn off in the settings menu if you have it. It is a you problem if you and others have a problem with an optional dlc and can't control yourself. A Optional DLC does not ruin a game what so ever unless you let it.

If someone wants to be dumb and buy a dlc like this for a game with their own money. Then that is their right and you coming on the forums complaining about an optional dlc that you can ignore/turn off. A DLC that again doesn't affect you unless you let it which then in that case that is a you problem.

Instead of complaining about dlc's like this you should be speaking with your wallet.

I for one already have this game Vengeance on the switch with all the dlc's. I also plan on getting vengeance and all the dlc's on pc.

I find it funny that Dragon's Dogma 2 got roasted for its DLC when it wasn't even close to being PTW yet I haven't heard a peep (other than this thread) about SMT V's which is way worse.

Neither are really bad at all. You do not need to grind xp or farm money in casual playthrough of SMTV. And if you're playing on hard, you're not gonna want any convenience dlc anyway.

OP, do you know that SMTIV has this kind of pay to cheat you're complaining? Nobody is forcing you to use it.

Explain how it's worse. Because the balance isn't effected by the dlc. Just like dragon's dogma 2.

That doesn't address the fact that the devs deliberately make the game extra grindy to get you to buy the boosts. It's a problem of incentives.

you could say that of many other games, but smt has always been grindy. long before dlc was a thing and your parents hadn't even made you yet smt was already grindy AF

something is seriously wrong with your demons / skills / strategy overall if you need to grind.
smt games literally doesn't require grinding lol

Do we even play the same game? If you play by guide then yes, you don't need to grind. But if you like to experiment get ready to buy DLC or spend endless hours grinding resources. Did you change your build from elemental to almighty? Congrats, you don't have enough glory. Do you want to get essences to play with? You need money or lucky encounter with mitamas and using lucky gauge so you could get few fusions. You want some rare essences? Prepare to save scum and get money. So not sure how you could say that game doesn't require grinding

It hasn't required grinding AT ALL through my hard playthrough. No guide. I could jump from boss to boss, I just had to fuse new demons and change elemental affinities/skills/etc. It really requires no grind unless you're a newbie to jrpgs and don't understand the items/skills you need/etc. I never once used mitama DLC on hard nor did I grind at ALL for any purpose. Once I was done with side quests I just moved onto boss, never had problems. final 2 bosses required some affinity changes is all.

It depends on what you mean by grind if you explore the map you will find almost everything you need and doing quests will level you up a lot. If you go from objective point to objective point trying to dodge everything and speedrun you might need to turn it to easy.

Strength is always the way to go in smt, except 4 i guess. There it's dex.

♥♥♥♥, I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and bought it, then played an obscene number of hours, now what?
Barely did any grinding, unless you think doing side quests is grinding you sad little fool. No DLCs bought, currently beat all 3 superbosses of CoV on non-NG+

Cry some more.

You toggle off those specific DLC you don't want to use in your Steam library list and move on.

And how you did get money in that case? Did you even manage to fuse 75% compendium? Because in my case I had to grind money and fame without additional mitamas.

Nothing. I'm not even sure if mitama spawn is increased by default. Check general settings for mitamas.

i had 80% of compendium fused, my secret was using the thing that forced fusion accidents (miracle) on full moon, and often i'd get 3 fusion accidents in a row filling out the levels far above me for far cheaper than would otherwise be possible.
