What dose 'Absent' mean, but I have the Essence?

at menu>Essence:
there is some demons with text Absent, but there is blue icon that means that I already have the Essence.
and some demons with text Absent, but the icon is black...

so, what that means?

am aiming to get 100% Essence

absent means that you used their essence, whether its for skills or affinities, blue icons means that they can be bought from gustave

the blue icon is on the left means I have, I think
