If you're party gets wiped in one turn without a heal, thats a Vitality stat issue. This can be corrected in the late game where you can shop for Vitality Essences or use Vitality essences to boost you demon's defense.
As for Bowl of Hygenia, I strongly disagree because that move can be the difference between barely staying in the fight to getting a lot of breathing room in the end game. Bowl of Hygenia is best used when you have access to full heal skills like Mediarahan where you will always get the benefit of getting 30% above your max HP. With this combo, you should be able to tank 2 full enemy turns before needing to Bowl + Mediarahan again.
The other thing is you can sequence your Pressturns in such as a way that a demon can use Bowl + another move in the same turn. This way you aren't wasting a full turn.
Bowl will be useful when you start encountering demons and getting essences that can learn Mediarahan. The earliest is around lv 58 with a Aogami Husk. You can get demons to learn Mediarahan when you can fuse them at level 71 or higher.
