Stuck on the Save the Children quest (both paths) or the Demon King's Castle (Canon of Creation)?

I've seen this come up a lot, so I'm putting everything I know into a separate topic so people will be able to search for it more easily.

Did you reach a map marker in the Save the Children quest or at the end of the Demon King's Castle and nothing happened? It's not a glitch (technically) but some overly strict scripting.

If you do not watch every single minor plot conversation along the way, the boss fight at the end won't trigger. For some reason the map layout for Save the Children and the Demon King's Castle are the most prone to breaking.

In the castle, the scene you probably missed was a miniboss fight against Chernobog on the 2nd Stratum in the NW room. First there is a scene with angels talking about a demon killing other angels. That one is very hard to miss. Shortly afterwards, you find bodies of dead angels on the floor and there will be a conversation about it, and a few steps past that there is the fight with Chernobog.

The locations for the Save the Children quest aren't usually marked on walkthroughs or guides because they are automatic. My advice is to find a video of someone playing that quest and look for cutscenes you haven't seen yet. That's where you need to go.

Which quest are you having trouble with? Did you try the steps I suggested? They have worked for several other people.

The demon kings castle. The quest marker is on the other side of the area by a fast travel point. And none of the important box’s are present. I even went to the bottom of the castle and no boss

You missed the miniboss fight against Chernobog. It's possible to walk around the trigger without even knowing its there, and the game won't spawn the demon king until you fight Chernobog first even though the quest marker points to it.

It is near the beginning of the 2nd stratum. There is a map on Gamefaqs that shows the exact location.

There is also a cutscene at the beginning of the 3rd stratum where you talk to Dazai. It is impossible to miss that one, but I don't know if it triggers if Chernobog hasn't been fought yet.

i can confirm that i have fought Chernobog

Did you also talk to Dazai on the way up, or did you warp directly to the Demon King after fighting Chernobog.
