Never-mind what this says about your taste in stuff like Dragon Ball, Berserk, Fist of the North Star, etc.
Young man, pick yourself off the ground, I said
Young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy
Young man, there's a place you can go, I said
Young man, when you're short on your dough you can
Stay there and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time
The voice actor for ENG Nahobino is nonbinary. The character is androgynous. His alternative design when Aogami dies and his brother inherits you, looks like a e-girl femme- pretty intentionally.
Non-binary people are part of the trans community. QED the character is probably trans. Do what you will about it, no doubt there will be big sweaty onion tears coming from the internet about it.
Yeah I'm going to be honest, I just disagree outright. I'm a trans woman so it's not like I don't think it'd be cool for representative characters, but the Nahobino is a male, no nuance, pretty outright. Someone else in this topic brought up how the whole transformation thing can be interpreted in this way and I do have to agree, it can be interpreted this way even if I personally don't, but that does not in ANY way mean the intention is that. What we're discussing is not the interpretation BUT the intention. The Japanese voice actor is not nonbinary unlike Casey, and to be quite honest, that does matter more for this specific discussion. The character is most certainly androgynous, both in and out of his transformations, but appearance has nothing to do with gender, and I'm honestly surprised you think this based on your argument.
For why our character actually looks this way, I can't say, but I can say that we are fusing directly with Susanoo, who in classic woodblock art is commonly portrayed with very long hair. Our character has extremely pronounced pectorals, a sign of muscularity and general masculinity in men, and I don't really know other muscle groups to mention by name but I'd say he's pretty jacked (just slim) in general. I don't really think they would make him this toned if he was supposed to pass off as "not masculine". As for our fusion with Tsukuyomi, I'm going to be honest I kind of just flat out disagree with your statement. I see where you're coming from, "E-girl femme" or whatever, but I do just disagree. I see it more as "Edgy cyberpunk ninja." I don't feel like I really have to put more into this specific argument because you didn't really put anything besides the vibes you get in yours.
For why he looks the way he does outside of his fusions, I think it's important to note that our character almost never (never, if you don't count the few dialogue choices) speaks when he's simply a human. He's always portrayed as pretty reserved, and perhaps a little timid. I feel his design gets this across pretty well, and it's important that he has a design that emphasizes his personality due to his small screentime and lack of dialogue. Him being a bookworm, specifically poetry, is also important to this portrayal. I understand the implications of me saying his non-masculine design emphasizes that he's timid and reserved, but I'm keeping the argument.
Anyways I certainly don't think "The character is probably trans" as you stated. I personally think it's fine for a man to look this way.
