Seems like its a template mistake, Atlus confirmed.
ZT-Sensei/Atra May 30, 2024 @ 6:48pm
yeah it's a mistake on their part, it won't go to game pass unfortunately

It can always be added on a later date, ofcourse. P5R didn't went to Game Pass directly aswell IIRC.

I didn't say it will be Day 1 on Game Pass, I guess it will be out in this year.

Game Pass release is always welcome... Why pay $60 for every game on steam... When you can just subscribe to Game Pass...
TSVStriFe Jun 2, 2024 @ 10:41pm
Cause there are also people that would like to OWN their games instead of just renting them.

For me it's because you can't mod the game or even access with any of the files which are installed on the system. You can't even open up the game folder where it is installed.

The save games are non-transferable, meaning if you wish to buy the Steam version down the line at a discounted rate and move your save over then tough luck, you are locked in the Gamepass version and have to buy it on their store if you want to actually own it outside a subscription model.

I get there is a market for it but it's just not for me.

You don't need to pay $60 for every game that comes to Steam, I only buy games Day 1 that I know I will enjoy for an extended period of time or is something I am really looking forward to, if it doesn't work out and it turns out to be a disaster I know I can always refund it easily.

For everything else if you just give it a few months you usually start to see decent sales on Steam.

That's not true, I was able to transfer my gamepass Persona 5 Royal savegame to the steam version I got, and even uploaded it to the cloud to be able to play on deck from where I left off. Look it up.

You have been able to mod game pass games for 3 years now.

Nice one, I am glad to hear that worked out well for you.

I wasn't able to do it for multiple games when I used Gamepass and never tried it with Persona 5 but to be fair, it was a while ago when I checked it out, around the early days when it came out on PC so they have probably come a long way since then.

If you can mod your games on there now as well then that's great, glad others can take advantage of that now since that had always been a downside to Gamepass in the past.

I'm not generally a fan of subscription services and like to have all my games in one place on Steam but happy that there are options for people and to see that they are improving.

Persona 5 Royal is very lucky and Persona 3 Reload too because they have their own dedicated save file converter, because even the general save converter on github don't support some games(for example: Eiyuden Chronicle Rising and Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes), and modding on MS version is infamous for being a pain in the neck

I had no idea there's a dedicated save file converter, I just followed a tutorial from some guy on either reddit or youtube. And honestly, I don't like game pass at all, I like to own my games instead of renting them.

There's no sense of urgency if it suddenly gets removed from game pass or if my subscription is running out, and you can't really play on steam deck natively without a bunch of hassle.

For me the main issue is being unable to buy the actual games myself due to the region lock, so I either have to play those on game pass if its possible or get extremely lucky and get those games gifted or something.

This will be on game pass eventually. Not day one, but within 2 years. I have patience and other games to play. Game pass doesn't run out of games to play.
