Sunday I had match after match, no timer inbetween. Maybe server was just struggling with the update?

Ranked In Eu was fine, got the itch back to play today and apart from a 5 min wait found game after game no problem

I try to play more than my daily character token.
But it makes me want to vomit.

right now most played game mode is Ranked, then Normals. Nobody plays Quick Play or AI probably. EU is active at least around 4 p.m. to mid night right now, especially higher ranks. Average rank rn is probably somewhere around gold to platinum, so you should find games a little bit quicker around that rank

ranked is active pretty much all time except times like 4-8am, fast queues happen after 3pm when people get home, normals are active too. The later time ( 1am for example ), the better lobbies you get usually.

Ive been playing for forever and i still find games decently quickly in competitive

Seems pretty lively at some times. I just played 7 matches. A few in Normal and a few in Competitive. My longest queue time was about 9mins. But a lot of the queue times were only around a minute.
