when do i start playing with other people?

all i get is bots. even in competitive
allies and enemy will always pick Jullie Kai and Dubu, always in that order.
before the round start and everytime someone goal my allies will walk to me and move randomly, obvious ai

I don't think the game puts you against bots ... I've noticed a lot more than just Juliette, Kai, and Dubu

There are bots, unless the same 5 players are always matched with me for the few rounds I have played (I'm experiencing horrendous lag, so please let them be bots.)

But if people are gathering up and wiggling and doing cute emojis, that's not a bad thing either.

Seriously doubtful after more attempts to play (unplayable lag still, GDI...) The names feel player made, but there's something very wrong with overall behavior/movement versus what I've seen on Youtube.

That they "activated" a co-op vs ai mode on a whim suggests that the first few matches are very much with and against bots just to roughly determine where players stand.

I played in betas so its possible that effected my first matches on release but in my experience there definitely werent bots

Just started the game. The first two matches are against bots Juliette/Kai/Dubu (maybe one guy on the other side was a player). You can definitely see that they stick to you after a win/loss.
The 3rd match was with other players though, as there is more variety in strikers choice.

I wonder how jaded people must be from other mobas that the idea of huddling up with your team to celebrate a goal, or to cheer each other on after losing a round can't possibly be performed by humans and must instead be bots.

I think the game will try to match you with other people who have yet to complete their basic missions until you're done with them. So you'll generally only see Julianne, Dubu and Kai, maybe a 10k Striker from the store if they already unlocked it.

I've played like 30 matches. No bots. I wish many players WERE bots, because they are too stupid to stay in the goal when they pick goalie and other basic mistakes that bots wouldn't make.

Create a new account and check for yourself.
You can see the difference between human movements and AI. With the latter during the first two matches, the strikers stick to each other after a win/loss in a very similar way, either it's on your team or the opponent team.

play a bot game and look at how cringe the bots act

There are absolutely bots lmao don't be stupid just because I guess the game didn't do it to you.

They always pick Julie Kai and Dubu. After a goal they form a ball on both sides (on your side they follow you around) and squiggle around while spamming emotes. They play terribly and you always win 0-5. It's insanely obvious.

I just completed all the introductory quests, unlocking dailies and the mode select but the game just sets me to a quick match and throws me into a match with bots the moment I click Play, WTF? I'm going to quit because of this, unless I get confirmation that it stops after a few more games. I am super bored. It 100% will not let me pick any mode except Quick Play. Even a Custom Game just reverts to Quick Play when I click Play, it's absurd.
