This doesn't fix until the game is completely closed and reopened.
The opposite case also happens, although to a lesser degree. On my PC I would like to set refresh rate to 144, but on Steam Deck it would ideally be set to 60. Due to Steam Cloud, setting the value in one system forces the other to use the same value.
Here are a few solutions:
- Do not upload graphical settings to Steam Cloud, or always prioritize a local version
- Allow screens with small resolutions to use higher resolution settings (worse, but the steam deck should be able to handle those settings)
You can actually edit the games Steam Deck settings to use a different resolution and that should fix that. It'll scale either way.
Your refresh problem I do agree it should be made more clear or just given a "Independent file that exists outside the cloud", but you should be able to set the refresh rate to whatever on the steam deck, as the OS has it's own refresh cap and shouldn't be affected by setting it to 144. Unity treats the "Target Framerate" more as a suggestion than an expectation. If the OS has the refresh set to 60, it will go to 60 unless it's set lower than 60, or you have "Allow Tearing" turned on. Hopefully this helps!
the images give the idea and your words were enough to know what to do
so thank you again

The circular enemy "radar" in the lower right has a rendering problem. Each time the circle does a glowing "pulse", a half-circle visual element animates from it to the left. Because it is a half-circle, the right edge of the circle manifests visually (as a vertical edge) and the result is an unintended gaffe in the visuals.
